Funny how the Netflix show now completely eclipses the game it's based on in terms of popularity. Not that it's surprising, especially with the adaptation being so good. If you have Netflix and you still haven't given Castlevania a chance, go for it. As for the game, I just really enjoyed playing as Hector and his Devil Forgemaster skills while listening to kick-ass Yamane music.

Still waiting for Konami to do anything Castlevania related on games.... I heard rumours about them doing something with Silent Hill but no rumour yet about CV...

Season 3 was bad and what they are doing with Hector is nothing short of a disgrace. It's a decent show otherwise.

I wouldn't say try the Trevor mode, but you should at least try playing to see his style compared to Hector's (or watch a moves showcase) He plays more like the traditional Castlevania games, but 3D- and like his boss fights when playing as Hector!

The adaption's disgusting, man. Rape and trauma to characters for no reason; Alucard mutilates human bodies and says Dracula was right, Hector is a useless weak sex slave, honestly, what are you on?

I haven't seen the latest season but the first two were "meh" at best, not very inspired (despite having so many opportunities to be) and barely animated resulting in everything looking stiff. There were a few good moments and kind of an interesting overall plot, but the actual scene-to-scene show was just plain bad. Worst of all, there was barely any of the awesome music from the games! What is even the point?

I think its representation of a horror/medieval setting with vampires and beasts is some of the best realized I've seen. It's a demoralizing world that I would never want to live in. It's a smart show that refreshingly stays away from all the traps/clichés that other video game movies or series usually fall in. They could have easily made this a show full of empty action, but here we can have whole episodes without a single fight but great dialogues. They could have made Trevor the typical perfect hero who will save the world, but instead he is full of flaws. Isaac has great character development and Hector is obviously being mistreated as a backstory for his inevitable comeback. Alucard in S3 was the only part I disliked. We all have our opinions, but to me this is a refreshing, dark and smart show.

It feels like the good ol times again with SupraDarky uploading another Curse of Darkness. Discovering this channel awhile back led to me discovering how good this and other obscure Castlevania games' music are.

Glad to see it getting some attention now. Michiru Yamane did great on this soundtrack, (at least up til the ending quarter) it was amazing, especially back in 2005. Been playing it anually at least once every year since my dad bought it thinking it would play like a movie. Thanks for checking it out! Highly underrated game tarnished by stale corridors and a snail's pace of walking, but it still had the ID's and lots of secrets to be found. It was a wonderful exploration as a kid, and the music only made that better.

It's actually pretty hard to choose between this game's soundtrack, or SoTN's soundtrack. They are both so amazing.

Love all the 3D Castlevania games during this era. Serviceable game play with excellent soundtrack. Definitely watch the Castlevania show sometime later. Behind on a ton of shows to watch.

@SupraDarky Definitely worth a play. It has good atmosphere and the music really is great too. I say use PCSX2 and bump up the looks tho, it can be hard going back to how it used to look (actually not that bad IMO), but the remaster does miss some things, so if you're a classic kinda guy I recommend playing the rom first, then the remake if you enjoy it.
