Now that we're almost certain Nintendo will announce quite a few Mario games this year, including a new Paper Mario, I'm excited to see this series hopefully return to greatness. Just stop trying to find new gameplay experiences and give us a classic RPG like this game or TTYD and we'll all be happy (I did love Super Paper Mario as well). This theme brings all the nostalgia of playing around the paper visuals for the first time and searching for secrets.

@Guy There was a leak which according to many big websites is probably real due to other sources saying the same thing.

I agree about the return to a proper turn based RPG like it was, the first paper Mario is arguably my favourite game ever. I also liked Super and Color Splash but not to the same level as the RPGs, only one I didn't really like too much was sticker star. As well as the gameplay and splitting everything up into miniature levels, it just lacked the right atmosphere for a paper Mario game for me.

Man, I never did finish this game, but ive played TTYD over 5 times. I gotta sit down and finish this game one day, if anything for it's beautiful OST.

I recently found out that Project 64 had a huge update since the last time I used it. Can finally play this no problem and finally beat it, along with Mystical Ninja and Ogre Battle 64.

Played through Paper Mario and Paper Mario TTYD again last year. There is so much nostalgia and greatness in those games. Hopefully we'll see a return to the classic format, but I personally doubt it.

Personally, I hope they go for the Super Paper Mario style of gameplay again. The first two's combat style was ok, but I feel SPM's felt closer to classic Mario gameplay while giving it the depth of an Action RPG. Of course, I would like it to be as charming as the first two games as well, so having Partners return would be nice. :)

I 100% agree. Something real homey about paper mario that 1000 year door never could quite recreate. Both are amazing though.

I can't decide which one I like more. TTYD imo has more memorable music and memorable characters. But 1st one has better level designs. I didn't like how so many of TTYD levels were so linear.

I dont dare get my hope up anymore for something in the style of the original or Thousand Year Door. Its all about generic toads now.

I remember playing paper Mario I had so much trouble in the desert area but now I bought it on the Wii u and finished it I hope there will be more paper Mario games for the switch
