I see a good looking Metroidvania, I buy. Think of a mix between a Metroidvania and Dark Souls with Spanish vibes... and then apply a coat of Catholic paintings mixed with horror. The dark and disturbing atmosphere is enough for it to be a game I won't forget. The combat system is satisfying, though the barebones skill tree felt like a missed opportunity. I thought the difficulty was great and while I heard it's too hard for some, I thought it was much easier than any Souls game. By far the most negative aspect was the map traversal because of the horrible lack of teleportation points, I really don't understand what they were thinking by adding so few of them. Oh and if you discover an item you cannot reach yet or a merchant, good luck trying to remember where they were because of the map not marking anything. It's too bad really, because apart from that I can hardly find any big faults. It's a great game.

I remember watching an early trailer for Blasphemous which was a bit underwhelming and hoping it wasn't just relying on shock factor of gore and religious tone. Happy to say it is a pretty well fleshed out Metroidvania with a huge map, constantly intriguing atmosphere/story, tons of hidden items/upgrades/relics/"powers" etc, quest lines. Aside from the obvious map and teleport problems you mentioned. One thing I found a bit annoying was having many required "traversal" items (trying to avoid spoilers) hinge on a limited relic equip system...I really don't see the advantage from not having most of them "always on".

Yep. I was on the Kickstarter and was pretty surprised when the release date was announced like less than two weeks before it was coming out, just out of the blue.

Somehow the music in this game reminds me of Diablo 2. Still haven't finished it though. Stuck at the angry lady near the end game

I definitely got some Diablo 2 vibes sometimes as well, especially the track that plays in the main hub/village. And yes, she's the one that gave me the hardest time since I suddenly had to start parrying.

@SupraDarky I had Diablo feelings playing this too. The first time I reached Albero I stopped to listen the song and surrendered to memories and nostalgia. I like to let my mind fly wild listening to some songs. Also, your channel was the first I subscribed too. Can't remember exactly when, but I think it was around 2008. Didn't had a habit of subscribing back then, and spent some years away from YouTube I was happy to see your channel continuing after so many years. I'm following more closely now since 2016. Cheers and thanks for many good moments through the years!

I just finished the game yesterday, what an amazing game ! Some bosses were really hard but what an amazing feeling you get from beating them ! That damn last boss !
