Shin'en continue being gaming wizards with this beautiful game using only 231 MB of storage and almost non-existant loading times. It took me about 5 hours to complete everything (except for the arcade games) and it was a complete pleasure. You're a tourist who visits various small islands inspired by real locales and end up discovering mysteries surrounding them. Exploring and solving puzzles is a joy thanks to the setting, and it even has a few mini-dungeons. The voxel graphics are stunning and the music has some highlights like this one when you dive underwater (DKC vibes!). I can only hope Shin'en made this game as a prologue and will fully build on it.
DKC rip-off or in other words, "inspired"...
DKC was inspired too. sure, a little less than ripoff, but still vastly inspired most chip composers in the particular area of europe Rare was in was kind of into this "cloudcore" music, per se, or at least knew of it+often used it as part of a demo listing speculation also indicates it might've been a Plok! (SNES) thing still doesn't change that this game directly took it from there tho lmao

Just played this game at the weekend and loved it. Had a perfect feel to it and I'll forgive it some frustrating puzzles because they were easy enough after a few tries

i love this type of music. i especially like 'dreamy somnom labyrinth' from mario & luigi dream team. or like, the whole chrono trigger soundtrack
Sounds like they were leaning a bit too much on Aquatic Ambience for inspiration...
What a perfectly bland, generic, and inoffensive art style. You couldn't make beveled squares more circular than this.
