This game simply hit all the right notes and is still to me the true successor to the classic Final Fantasy we used to get with the Sakaguchi-Uematsu duo. And when you add the fact that a big part of the team behind this game previously worked on the Shadow Hearts franchise, you get a winning formula.

One of the surprise few game soundtracks Uematsu lent his talents for after the FF series. And it sure shows. I can recommend both the music and gameplay over the other Xbox game which comes to mind: Blue Dragon.

A few of the dream stories were better than the main story. Great JRPG, but it was on the 360 so no chance for a sequel.

This game was ok. The art style never quite hit my liking and the story was generic. The world wasn't fleshed out enough, same for the characters... especially the mortals. But I do remember Jensen's antics fondly. He was my favorite. The music is great though obviously.

@orugnet that didn't make the story of the bad guy plotting to rule the world any less generic. In fact, it took anything that could have been special about the situation out of it - he's done it before, here we go again. Sigh. Yawn.

I played the game last week and I totallly agree with you. The immortals concept is interesting, the dreams are very good stories, but the main plot is a total shame regarding all that. At the end of CD1 I was sure there would be time ellipse in the main story, permitting us to see the kids grow, maybe even die. But nope the game is all about kicking the ass of a big villain which is pretty disappointing regarding what could have been done
