While I realized that this game was something special when I reached the City of Tears, it's when I reached Kingdom's Edge that I truly understood I was playing a masterpiece. The rush you get when you discover a new area, with its name popping on the screen, is always something I loved about metroidvanias. They completely nailed this sense of discovery in Hollow Knight and stumbling upon this area, mixed with the music and the falling bodies from the Colosseum above just made me stop for a moment. Little did I know that I was about to face the most frustrating enemies in the game... the primal aspids.

THIS. SO. MUCH. I felt exactly the same way as you, and I was surprised to see that apparently a lot of people didn't enjoy Kingdom's Edge that much (not even mentioning our favorite Primal Aspid friends lol). I'm so glad to see this uploaded as one of your favorite BGMs. This game is unforgettable and I can't wait for the sequel. We don't deserve Team Cherry and Christopher Larkin. <3

There’s so many good tracks in this game you could easily upload the whole soundtrack as Best VGM and no one would argue. Greenpath, Dirtmouth, and Soul Sanctum especially stand out in my mind. Incredible work from such a small indie team.

This is the first game in the history of time that made me think "You know, I think they should charge a little more for this." So great, can't wait for Silksong.

Yeah I picked it up for $25 and after finishing it (107% because I'm not good enough to beat the Pantheons or Trial of the Fool) and one of my first thoughts was "this is something I would absolutely pay full price for"

Video games, like movies or TV shows, require so many people to have skills in so many different ways and still make it as one. It is possible to do something great when you combine the creativity of many people but making something perfect is impossible. However, sometimes it happens that such game tend to be close to perfection, Hollow knight is not only great for its OST that make you wonder and explore freely the environment or makes you want to fight harder until the end but also for its great game design, mechanics and art style. Every time I replay this game, I figure out another thing the the devs made to make the player want to explore, to know about the world, make the player better at the game little by little, hinting subtle things hidding beneath the grass and dirt. Honestly, this game blow my mind on how many layers of thinking there is in alsmost every aspect.

I feel like Hollow knight's soundtrack does not get enough appreciation. Like this is incredible and you cannot tell me otherwise.
