While the 2 DS Zeldas are my least favorites in the franchise, I do think this game was a vast improvement over Phantom Hourglass. This track is widely seen as the main theme and for a good reason as it's super memorable. I played so much BOTW lately that just seeing the tower in the image makes me want to climb it to reveal the area's map!

I totally fell in love with the version of this song that premiered on Sm4sh, and I never even played Spirit Tracks. That version of the song is on my phone, but of course the original version sounds great too!
I still think the smash remix doesn’t hold a candle to the original

I liked the setting and music... the controls killed it for me. If they were to redo Phantom Hourglass and this for the 3DS, I'd happily buy and play them again with the better controls.

It's a bit sad that only this and Links Awakening are the only LoZ games with music being the main thematic of the game. I love both games because of that, also ZELDA DOES STUFF and is playable too :)

One of my favorite 2D Zelda games. It almost feels like a hidden gem in the Zelda series.

Phantom Hourglass was an easy skip when it came out, but Spirit Tracks was some good fun. Original tunes, not being a poorly done minutes later direct sequel. Enough about that, now I'm wondering what is taking so long on the original 3DS Zelda front.

This OST is GREAT.
I think Spirit Tracks was significantly worse than Phantom Hourglass, partly due to the train tracks being less interesting to traverse than a vast ocean. The music was one of the only things that got even better after the original.
never really disliked this game that much but its more or less on par with phantom hourglass on being the the weakest Zelda game except for the game and watch and the 3 CDI games.
Man, I guess I should play this after BOTW. I have been dying to try it out!

With this song, riding the train was never boring.
I had such a great time playing this game I very nearly 100% cleared it without a guide, blind (something I wouldn't attempt again until Link Between Worlds). I want to say I got all the tracks restored and all of the heart containers.
I loved this game. It was fun and unique. And best of all was beating Malladus while being stuck in a traffic jam surrounded by massive mountains. Such an awesome setting. The fight was pretty easy but the music helped a lot. Because of that it's ended up one of my favorite final boss fights in the series.
This is one of the bests songs in the Zelda franchise, hands down
I always liked that music track even though ST is my least favourite Zelda in the series. Couldn't even finish it, and I usually finish all my games.
Gotta say, I only know of this tune via the remixed version from Smash 4. I kinda like this one better because I’m a sucker for those wind pipe instruments.

While strangely Phantom Hourglass is my least favorite Zelda(even with CD-I games I just detest everything that is the Temple of the Ocean King), Spirit Tracks is actually one of my series favorites. The soundtrack improved, the story and characters improved, the art direction improved(they weren't making everything washed out for an ocean feel but colorful which makes a massive difference for me), the gameplay improved(trains > boats), just everything was a tenfold improvement for me.
Also the controls are better.

Really interesting stereo mixing on this track. I hear the percussion and some guitar on my right and what might be a base instrument of some sort on my left, and the whistle is in both ears. Adds a really interesting texture to this song that I don't remember from my time with the game.

Yep, you'll be hearing this tune a lot when playing this game. Good times. Gotta get back to that game once in a while for nostalgia.
