I always found this battle theme particularly memorable with its low keys and powerful beat. This really was a solid PS1 RPG, but it seems to be mostly forgotten now. I wonder what the developer Genki is up to now.

SupraDarky Can't remember how many times me and one of my best friends have played through this game. And every time I create the exact same monster as my leader =D A white Pegasus! (At least the closest you can get to it xD)

One of the worst things they did for the sequel was remove this theme, they got so much stuff right with the first one that they ended up getting rid of *facepalm* and to think at the time critics panned the first one and gave the second a great review... idiots.

I hated the end game forests. This game is still one of my favourite RPGs. I've never played the second one but from what I've heard it's shit. Maybe one day I can hunt down and find me a physical copy of jade cocoon again and play it like I used to. This game is kind of janky on my 3ds. It's playable but the sound lags.

Sometimes I feel that I played Playstation Magazine demo of Jade Cocoon about as much as full game. I even used pencil¬ebook combo to make a spreadsheet for combining minions in Beetle Forest. Good times.

Wow Supra, really cool to see you upload music from Jade Cocoon! My uncle gave it to me when I was a kid saying "It's kinda like Pokemon..." and I loved every bit of it. Even then I couldn't find anybody who knew it. I actually beat it again for the first time since I was a kid this year. Also cool to see you uploaded The Blue Cocoon Master. Now we need Syrus Village.
I'm probably the only one in the world who recites segments of "X Gon' Give it to Ya," to this very rhythm. Sucks to be everyone else!
First game was basic but solid, loved the fusion meccanic and you could also fight the monsters yourself instead of relying only on your monsters. The sequel was kinda "eh" because they changed the battle meccanics ( basically instead of having every monster being capable of attacking normally and to use special skills they were limited to the special skills that always consume mana and only the fire type had attack skills ) sooooo they kind of disappeared after JC2.......
This game still remains underground and alluring, super cool post!

I liked this game mainly for realism, tribes and evolution mixing. Probably why i consider this my favorite Turn based RPG ever made.. thought it also was the first i played on PS1 as a demo haha : D
