Mmmmmm, pollo. Muy sabrosa. Guacamelee is still one of my favorite Metroidvanias, the gameplay is simply top notch and the presentation very clean. I have yet to get my hands on DrinkBox's latest game, Severed, but I heard great things. On the subject of guacamole, am I the only one who hates it when it has cumin in it? Even worse with coriander/cilantro. Leave my tasty guacamole alone!

Samir Mapelli it has to be fresh to be good. It goes bad rather quickly after the avocado is cut.

Una muy buena canción sin lugar a dudas, y sobre el juego que puedo decir... es una excelente mezcla de un Metroidvania con toques Hack n' Slash. En cuanto a la localización, innegablemente es sublime y muy bien llevada sin llegar al cliché o ser ofensivo.

This game is so fucking good. They completely nailed the Mexican theme of the game. I'm sure at least one of the creators had to have been Mexican. That shit was spot on.

Trust me, if it's too hard not that many people will reach the end of the game, the game of which the devs have invested much into. It's a challenge as a developer to actively make your audience less able to complete your hard-polished and/or loved works. It also makes your game a lot less likely to explode as a mainstream thing too, in most cases. It's very difficult to make difficult levels that are good challenge, and not something that makes you want to rip your hair out and/or quit(like I mean time consuming tbh). Back in the day, kids could destroy Megaman games and the original Sonic games. Nowadays, I can't even break through the first five Donkey Kong Country levels. Theres just too much optional entertainment to give up and try again at the same thing for most standard peoples these days. The reason Mobile games work so well(popularly/economically) is because, during break at work or on the bus ect. you only have enough time to play like 2 minutes of something and those games revolve around that sort of play environment.
oh i know that full well. But its just disappointing that everytime I start to really get into the mechanics of the game and it demanding more of me, it just ends. I felt the same way with Shovel Knight, when I reached the last level I said to myself "ok, now this is where the real game starts!", and it was over just as fast.
Forest del Chivo is my favorite theme from the game. Currently playing through Severed and it has that Guacamelee feel to it that makes me happy :)

I remember getting to this part of the game and i was getting my butt handed to me with all the difficult jumps that had to be made. I feel that this game is an absolute gem for any fans of Metroidvanias.
Hm... What could be coming for 2014 and 2015? 2014 is probably going to Shovel Knight. 2015 better not go to Undertale. Personally, I'm hoping for Splatoon.
