Aaaaaaa I gotta get back to this game. It's so hard! Hempuli is an old favorite gamedev of mine, though, and it's good to see he's getting more recognition.
After finishing this game really is amazing, I did a sequence break when I didn't know where to go and I only noticed it 2 hours later :D
which one? the one that uses a d-boost to gain height or the one involving a difficult series of movements through a hazard-laden room?

Definitely my favorite track from this game. As soon as I heard this I knew I was in for a great experience.
The bass-line for this song is giving me Sega Genesis/Megadrive vibes. Am I the only one who thinks that?

An amazing Metroid clone and my Game of the Year in 2015, I look forward to replaying it on Normal difficulty (I very much recommend going with the still challenging Easy difficulty on a first playthrough, especially for the bosses). Playing AM2R got me in the mood for more. One thing I feel like ESA did awesomely was to provide challenging rooms/puzzles requiring to master the skills you learn, it made for some very memorably satisfying moments when you succeed.
I should probably finish it some time soon, maybe with some cheats / save-file manipulation. I started on 'Normal' difficulty and *really* enjoyed it until the bosses got insanely hard later on. And I'd rather finish it with some external help than never finish it.

Played it very recently. Loved the game, but stopped on the postgame when it went full puzzle-riddle-adventure

I recommend playing it on Normal, and then on Hard. The game is easy.
Yeah unless you really want the bosses to be challenging easy is probably best for first time through. I did normal but I'm into really hard platformers like Wings of Vi and Dustforce ;)
@xSayPleasex Easy is by far the most sane choice to start with. Even then the bosses are punishing. And really the difficulty of these games is the bosses. If you expect to be challenged by the normal enemies you're barking up the wrong tree.
@Claudio Marcelo Basckeira I've gotten pretty far into the postgame but I still don't know how far it goes and some of what i've done even runs contrary to what I've read in a guide so I don't even know anymore haha I love this feeling of being lost in adventure, plumbing the depths of a mystery.
