The traditional Japanese instruments sound amazing and really help to give it that majestic feel. Is that a shinobue?
Rei Kondoh is soooo good. I've been obsessed with Fire Emblem Fates recently, and his music contributions to it are wonderful. Very Okami-like too.

I remember having to look all over the place for it when it came about. Was kind of disappointed when I played it. Repetitive puzzles that constantly hammer their solution to you, really slow pace (Without mentioning that the super fast flower sprinting thingamabob doesn't happen. NG+ content was not very interesting.) Presentation was probably as good as it could get, unfortunately. I think this game would have been better off porting to 3ds/New 3DS for improved capabilities, more buttons, ect. It would also mean more space for the game to have taken. I definitely agree the music was great, and the story was above average. It still kind of felt like a huge chunk of the team behind it wasn't very motivated to do much. Very curious about what happened behind the scenes during its development

The Nintendo DS was home to a lot of great games and Okamiden is one of my very favorites. I'm still blown away by Capcom being able to squeeze the game inside a DS cartridge. The graphics were impressive and the soundtrack was top notch, both in sound quality coming out of a DS and composition. A series I will always cherish.
