I only ever played the Mega Drive Version, so I've never heard this Sega CD version. This is incredible music for a game of this time!
Big fan of Spencer Nilsen's work on the Sega CD Ecco games with their great, full sound and deep/breathing atmosphere. Lots of different sounds for the ears and great use of stereo. Ecco is a franchise I'd definitely love to see with a modern treatment, exploring the ocean is never dull and quite underused in video games.

The key is that I would want it to get dark and creepy as fuck, like the old Ecco games. Needs that H.R. Geiger creepiness.
The team tried to Kickstart a spiritual successor of the Ecco games, but they didn't reach their goal so it fell through.
