I really liked this song, especially how it fit with the emotions at the beginning of the adventure, as you are just starting out and your story is only beginning.
Reminds me of when I was young,huh? It left a really deep impression on me when I was a child,and it took awhile for me to find the game. That was years back,but I still really do love the music. I really should finish this game haha xD
The coldness of a fully technological city in contrast with the DEUS VULTness of the other kingdom makes this one even better.

YES! First time I played this game I literally set the DS down to listen to this more. Soundtrack continued to impress me and still holds the title for best-vgm-that-makes-me-cry-like-a-bitch
This is actually one of my favorite games. It's not much for repeated playthroughs as things get really tedious the second time around but those were some of the best 35 hours I've spent with a video game.
DS, just as Wii, has so many hidden gems.. Maybe these gems were overlooked when both the DS and Wii has enormous libraries (most of the games are probably crap though).

Yeah, it's a real pity this didn't do well, like many new RPGs. At least Bravely Default did well enough to get a sequel, though I suppose that was Final Fantasy in all but name.

Yeah this song is evocative of many feelings. This really is a very good game. It's quite unique and I liked how the game flowed. Atlus being behind it I thought would have sold decently unless it was under printed.

Hope this reminds you of the footstep sound that was, atleast to me, annoyingly loud compared to bgm :D Still love this game, tho the game cost me around 80€ when i bought it new due to it getting caught in finnish tolls/customs :P (55€ from the game, and then 10€ for shipping... rest was a sanction from trying to "evade taxes" :D

Only just finished the game last year. My favorite track from the game. I have it in my own rpg themed playlist.
This game was totally worth the important - and truly shimomura is a goddess in music design. I, for one, enjoyed the branching plots! Even the bad ends! The battle system was good too, I enjoyed decimating an enemy my making a huge combo with my team of aht, Raynie and stock, oft swapping Raynie with the big beast like guy! Even if it was only just for bonus exp.
Probably my favorite song from the soundtrack.

Radiant Historia was recommended to me by the venerable HCBailly and to this day it remains one of my favorite JRPGs of all time. It has an incredible soundtrack, compelling characters, and one of the greatest story lines of a JRPG in recent memory. If you have not played this game, you owe to yourself to complete this gem.
+HoppytheCourier I remember that Let's Play. HCBailly even wrote a walkthrough on GameFAQs (his GameFAQs account being Sleipnir2000). I remember how after HCBailly's Let's Play ended, they made more copies of Radiant Historia. If it was only a coincidence, it's still an awesome coincidence.
It missed out on a decent print by under-printing which shot itself in the foot as far as sales. It would have done alright if they had printed enough to meet demand.
I'm so glad I finally got to play this gem last summer. It's as good as Suikoden TIerkreis (maybe better).

It's so sad to hear this game didn't do so well, because in my opinion, I thought it was a fantastic RPG. Absolutely worth the time of anyone who enjoys a good dose of turn-based combat.
It feels like jrpg many times becomes hidden gems. Would you recommend it? If so, how does it stand above other jrpgs? What makes it unique?
Eirian Odalis Brave Fencer Musashi for ps1 is a hidden gem too.
I bought this game day one. I think it's the best RPG on the DS by a mile.
+Mimorin What about RPG's which grow you as the player from the story instead of watching everybody else grow and making "difficult" decisions for THEM? I still think twewy is a more deserving title for best DS rpg for many reasons, especially the story, which had a big impact on me in my younger years as I am sure it did for many other people who played it.
+bulbinking It's a matter of preference. Radiant Historia is traditional and turn-based with a plot driven story while twewy is experimental and action-heavy with a character driven story. Both did what they sought out to do well. At the time I craved something similar to Chrono Trigger and this was the closest they've gotten. Unfortunately, the characters weren't nearly as memorable or developed.
@Mimorin My mild ocd prevents me from enjoying games like CT and even the FE series because I want to level up everybody at the same time. Does RH also have a system like that where you have to swap between party and choose which ones to level up and use more often than the others?
You can change party,with a maximum of 3 members,but the ones that don't fight still receive a tiny amount of experience;it's not enough though and they fall behind pretty fast if you don't use them
bulbinking I understand the FE problem. You could always play Awakening, Birthright, Revelations, or Echoes though.

While I thought the splitting timelines mechanic ended up feeling like a chore to manage, I did really enjoy Radiant Historia. You just don't see new RPG IPs that often anymore, especially on a handheld. It's unfortunate that it didn't sell well and it's another sad example of why developers prefer pumping out sequels for established franchises.
