Finished the game yesterday as well. I liked it for sure, but I was kind of disapointed by how the game ended quickly. I finished in 3h and I was kind of not expecting that. I liked the game for what it was, but I guess I was surprised by its length. I feel really bad because I don't want to criticize the game for its length, but ......
+Mikhael Daoudi I was also pretty underwhelmed by this. Around the time it was released, people were raving about how difficult the game was, and that I'd be tearing my hair out on it. Using 4-direction arrow key controls, which were said to be impossible by some people, I managed to get the game done in a few hours, one of the bosses on the first attempt. I was looking forward to much more of a challenge and was left quite disappointed. What really is a shame is how beautiful the world is. All of the bosses have really nice designs that fit perfectly with the world around them, the controls are tight and satisfying, and exploring the ruins and listening to the soundtrack is fulfilling in its own right. I just wish the game was meatier, and lived up to its "OMG SO HARD" reputation. It's a rather challenging game, but not like many people seem to be saying.

People don't have a problem with the game as much as they do for the developer. Just like Phil Fish, the Dev of TS screwed himself over.

+nintendonick Huh. Seems to me like TB escalated this, not the dev. TB should have just ignored the (good-natured!) jibe, and simply decided not to cover it without making a big stink.
@Fellshard Yeah I understand, but later on the developer was calling TB a "non-gamer" and some other random shit which didn't make sense. I just think Andrew Gleeson was getting drunk that day and took everything more and more personal after more and more drinks. I actually didn't give a shit because I own Titan Souls. Just like Phil Fish, this didn't phase me. I still think Fez is in the top 3 games of last gen. I love how everyone has so much pride and think they are better than everyone including devs. They think their beloved games where made by saints or some shit. I dunno what else to say other than some of you stubborn morons just need to let some shit go. I know people forgot about this whole thing, but it was a big deal because he prollay would have had "Very positive" or "Overwhelmingly positive" reviews on Steam, but that week, the game was showing "Mixed" for the reviews just because he couldn't shut his mouth. (I know the irony here) :P
+nintendonick So from what I'm getting, one of the game's artists making a sarcastic quip that bared no offense to TB himself sent him and his childish fanbase over the edge. Keep in mind the person who made the joke didn't even design the game itself. I pretty clearly side with the devs in this situation.

Finished this game yesterday in 2 sittings and really loved it. I can definitely understand why some people wouldn't, though. This is basically a game made of boss rooms, interconnected through an empty, ancient world filled with enough lore to be satisfying. The pixel art is awesome and the soundtrack is mighty impressive, filled with profesionnal sounding epic and relaxing themes. The highlight is definitely the gameplay: you can run, roll to dodge and you're only equipped with a bow and 1 arrow. Shooting and aiming the arrow requires to be standing still, and afterwards you have to either move to the arrow or summon it to you (again standing still) to pick it back up. The one element that really makes this game for me is the fact that you die in 1 shot, but the titans as well. This makes for some of the most satisfying kills I've had in a long while when finally (or quickly in some cases) managing to hit a titan's weak point. Loved that! Dark Souls and Shadow of the Colossus vibes are a bonus.

+Ryan O'Mullan Yeah it got aome attention because people exactly saw this retro-shadow colossus in it. but in the end the few flaws it has which supra correctly stated prevented it from becoming bigger., It is really not a game for everyone. Even if you do love SotC and such formulas. I personally can't find interest in the game (seen playthroughs) to me it feels more like a giant puzzle game. And while one could argue that SotC bosses are also technically just puzzles...I think they have the presentation on their side.
+Raf Jotun definitely looks interesting and is a game I'll play eventually.
