I remember how frustrating this level was as a kid lol but man, I loved the music
It wasnt even that hard for me, but man the music brings me back
Haha I remember playing this level on the old gameboy (the one with the four batteries). And this level was bittersweet, because I remember adoring the music as a child but the level itself would push you forward, and therefore you were unable to remain stationary and enjoy the music. Furthermore, you could only play this stage once as it was a boss level haha. Even as an adult, I can't tell you how grateful I am to be able to listen to this song on demand :)

As a kid I always used to think of this as a very fast and upbeat version of "Swing on a Star". It totally doesn't work for the whole song but if you just sing the main chorus at the fast part and then the "a pig is an animal" or "mule is an animal" parts during the slow part it KINDA works. Try it! Or not because you have way better things to do XD

ya know i really do like the art for the old mario games. so much depth and creativity. today mario has almost minimalist art really. not much change. dont get me wrong the games still look great are creative. they just dont have the allure and wackiness of the old games. i guess that just difference in design from miyamoto and the new director whos name escapes my mind right now. i like the new guys worj tho! very good concepts for actual gameplay! sometimes his ideas are better than miyamotos!

This was my first gameboy game other than Pokemon Blue. It's awesome, and it's still one of my favourite 2D platformers of all time. I remember finding this level hellishly hard when I was younger, so I just recently confronted my fears and went back to this game. I found it quite easy, but the nostalgia made me go insane for a while. Seriously, even if games are just a collection of pixels, they can make you as sad as reading a good novel. Mostly from nostalgia.
After listening to these tracks I realise now that I played this game a lot more than I thought I did.
