Have you tried out Dragon Quest Heroes?
DQ6 is one my favourite video games and especially the NDS remake which is great But the final boss deathtamor is awfully strong! Even with two dragons fully grown in my team, I have difficulties beating him it's awesome!
I've been wanting to get into Dragon Quest. Does anyone know a good starting point (BTW the only consoles I have is a Wii, Wii U, GBA, D.S., 3D.S., and PS4
I would say dq iv is a really good start for the DS. iv-vi is a trilogy and I would play them in that order

Sugiyama's music always gives me a nostalgic feeling, eventhough I barely played any games composed by Sugiyama, except some Dragon Quests and E.V.O.
My favorite of the series, but I still have to play IV, V VII and VIII, really can't wait to get those games, especially since I hear some of them are better than VI, also the music in VI is just awesome, especially in the DS remake

Personally, i thought 6 was the weakest out of the trilogy, but still a fun and amazingly huge game with great music.
Just another awesome Sugiyama town theme. Everytime I listen to DQ music, I feel like starting a new file. Games in this series are big "comfort games" for me, I feel right at home when playing them, always knowing what to expect. I'm looking forward to DQ11 on 3DS/NX/PS4.
I also look forward to Dragon Quest XI. I loved Dragon Quest IX, which remains to this day as one of my favorite games ever, and I hope this new one will be able to have the same impact on me. It's a shame you don't have more music from that game on your list.
