I adore Grandia 2 and consider it to be a masterpiece.
For some reason Grandia 2 just didn't click with me. The first game was nice, but this one simply didn't get me immersed and caring about the characters.
Damn, this is so cool. I didn't even know anything about this game
And btw, it reminds me of the score of Wario Land: the Shake Dimension
@MarioSoundtrack Please if you can, even in an dreamcast emulator play this game, is a must for jrpg fans, and dont play the PS2 ver. is a mess
Love Grandia! The title theme of Grandia is by far one of my favorite title screen themes other than Xenosaga!
I didn't have a very good time playing this game. It felt poorly put together and extra long for no reason. Especially the last 1 or 2 hours of the game just dragged and dragged. Yet at the same time I played it everyday after work until i beat it. I loved the battle system, that's for sure. And the music was great. But I hate voice acting in videogames and I couldn't really attach myself to any of the characters, they were all pretty lame. I beat it once, I enjoyed playing it for the most part, but I would never play it again.
Listening to this I'm getting a Radiata Stories vibe ('-' ) Oh, just checked that Radiata's soundtrack was composed by him also. Curious.

I completely agree, Iwadare needs more work in RPGs. Though of course he's still plenty busy with the Ace Attorney soundtracks, I would love to see another RPG soundtrack with him at the helm. This is an awesome song by the way. Didn't realise before how good it was.
Sigh. I love this game. The dialogue was super interesting the whole way through. I need more games like that...

Just your typical (and always awesome) Iwadare town theme. Upbeat, great sound quality, cheesy synths. Love it. We need more RPGs with his music, I find him to be a vastly underrated composer. I greatly miss the Grandia series, 1&2 both being amongst my favorite RPGs of all time.
Is Grandia I worth playing? I always felt II was more superior because of the better voice acting.
@Tyler Ness Absolutely! Although yes, Grandia II had the better voice acting and dialogue, Grandia I has a greater sense of adventure with just as many awesome tunes, great combat and progression, and a simple, but mature story with very lovable characters. If you enjoyed Grandia II, you will love Grandia I even more.
