good song and the soundtrack has several more candidates for this list. HM2 is a difference experience than HM1 for sure. in HM1, it was more like a standard silent protagonist narrative (with twists). HM2 gave me a more detached, voyeuristic feeling, like watching a david lynch film.
just beat act 4. didnt find them that difficult at all. is there a major spike in difficulty on the last acts?

Many of these tracks have been around for years now, mostly through the artists' personal soundclouds, etc. So I have to wonder, why have songs not originally intended for the game? What does this mean for the artists that made these songs prior to allowing use in the game?
@VexylMusic Pretty sure the artists retain all rights to the songs and I'd be willing to bet it also means a big increase to their song sales and general interest in the individual artists music, seeing how massively popular the games are!
You probably could put half the soundtrack in there, it's so good. I personally like Dust and Technoir a lot too.

nah, I kinda feel like the same. Did not have much fun with it until now. I was so surprised by the first game and loved it. But this just doesn't really get me hooked. I'm still trying to figure out why that is.
@Grakesch It's probably the messy story, and poor level design. It's hard for people to understand what's going on if you keep going from past, to present, to past, to present, and so on. Also The Fans were incredibly shitty, both in character and gameplay design. The level design was trash after Chapter 10. Windows absolutely everywhere, off-screen gunners up the ass. It was less Hotline Miami and more like a deadly game of peekaboo with how much you had to keep baiting enemies and shift looking. Chapter 11 was painful to play, I didn't bother to finish it so I just watched the rest of the game on YT.
The level design is sloppy, but I honestly still had fun with it. Not as good as the first, but I liked it.
I thought it was way better than the first game. More characters more story. I loved going back and learning about beard and the extensive use of windows made it more challenging

2nd game was outstanding and the soundtrack even more, keep in mind those where comments made 3 years ago and a lot of the "history" wasn't developed or understood quite well.

Probably about halfway through the game, it's good to be playing this series again. Pure gameplay, no time wasted between deaths, just like how it should be. I'm loving it so far, just as much as the first game, though the "unique" factor obviously isn't there anymore. It feels like a great, though sometimes safe, sequel to a great game. This theme plays during one of the first levels and that's when I knew I was back into Hotline Miami. One of the highlights of the soundtrack so far.
Such a cerebral series. It keeps you on your toes until the very end, and constantly forces you to piece things together to form a mosaic of a story that will vary from person to person; the way a great story should be. I hope you enjoy your play-through!
Def want to say they made up for the originality w the difficulty spike. Some of those levels almost had me tossing the controller
