At first, I thought "huh, this is an interesting version of Wagon Wheel's March from Dragon Quest IV", then I actually looked at what was playing. XD The Sugiyama is strong in this one.

God I always think I am the only one who loves this gem of a game. It's so awesome and I found it originally back in 2002 for my SNES emulator XD Awesome choice there, SD. Let's not talk, however, about that final boss. Eugh.
@TheNovaFox I agree entirely with you and i also remember making the bad choice of spending an hour on on level evolving into a human and then i couldnt beat the boss XD
Love this game! Anyone that likes this soundtrack should take a look at the orchestrated tracks played at the "Orchestral Game Music Concert 2".

Oh wow, this is giving me the biggest Dragon Quest Monsters vibe ever. Didn't surprise me that Sugiyama had his hands in both.
I love this game so much. A shame that after the mid part, the game gets difficult as hell. Bosses 2-hit killing you or a ton of grinding near the end makes this game exhausting and even frustrating. But man, I still love this game. It's also really nostalgic to me.

Very charming RPG/platforming hybrid with excellent music by Sugiyama. It's always interesting to listen to music he composed outside of the Dragon Quest series. This game especially has music that could have come straight out of DQ. The game itself is a lot of fun and quite innovative, very refreshing.
Wow, it would look just like Spore if it was storyless, 3-D, and filled with bugs! I'm definitely looking into it, though from the gameplay I've seen, I really don't appreciate the fact that it resets your character after every segment.
Yeah ! Sugiyama is my favorite composer ever ! Can definitely hear his style in some of the chords progression. Even though I prefer his Dragon's Quest stuff :)
@Mdude360 It resets your character after each segment because you EVOLVE. You then need to ADAPT to the changes of evolution again. That's the biggest reason of that mechanic. It's like Darwin's Law.
@Mdude360 There's an interesting feature that counters that. You can save your evolutions as they are in an evolution slot. Then, whenever you have a green crystal you can spend it to become any evolution you have saved (including some secret, one-of-a-kind ones...). I don't exactly remember if it was the green crystal though.
