I dont know wether I love Undertale more than Shovel Knight, two really awesome games that are completely different but still gives you a blast to the past in their own ways...

This song made me think of virt aka Jake Kaufman. I decided to go to his website immediately after listening to this and to little surprise he worked on it. How about that. If you like this kind of tunage I suggest listening to his virt songs. Especially off of his fx3 album. So fucking good!

You do know the soundtrack is a Jake Kaufman soundtrack, right? That means it's pay-what-you-want on his Bandcamp! Check the link in this video's description.

I hear lot's of RPG here but i don't hear Gothic. That game have a most climatic soundtrack that i hear until Dark Souls. Can you, chek this out?

Not Shield Knight's theme outta 10. Do love this theme, the pleasant horror kinda tone makes is a very addicting song.

Everyone know that GOTY 2014 #1 is Dark souls 2, no surprise (majula maybe) :p I've a recommandation for you, discovered Endless Legend recently, and its soundtrack are really cool, you should take a look. Hm.

You know, Shovel Knight comes in first, but it's tied with another game... If this is GOTY #2, I'm fairly sure GOTY#1 is the game tied for first in my list...

Shovel Knight was my game of the year. Simply a perfect 8 Bit sidescroller.

The most fun I've had with a game this year. Nostalgia strings in full effect thanks to its 8-bit nature. I feel like it used the best parts of loved classics like Mega Man, Duck Tales, Castlevania, etc. to make an almost perfect platformer that also feels fresh thanks to more modern mechanics. The base challenge isn't too high, but leaving the choice to the player to make it harder by breaking checkpoints or avoiding to use powerful items is exactly what I like. It helps that it also has my favorite soundtrack of the year, props to Jake and Matsumae. I find this theme quite underrated, it fits perfectly with the haunted halls. Amazing game.

Shovel Knight was an amazing game to play. I also have this as my favorite soundtrack of 2014; to think it's a chiptune soundtrack in 2014 is absolutely amazing. I'm also that the people at Yacht Club Games were able to have Jake and Manami do the soundtrack for this incredible game. It is well worth the price in spades.

@totlyepic It makes sense if your ratings take into account things like Innovation, Story, and Artwork which don't always directly = fun. Fun sometimes is more visceral than contemplative
