I like Sugiyama but as a general rule, the symphonic suite versions are much better than the terrible synth he uses and this piece is no exception.

As I have never played this particular DQ before, the one thing that comes to mind is... man that green hair has quite the chin.
Dragon Warrior/Quest VII is an awesome game. Despite it looking dated when it came out that didn't bother me at all and I've spent hundreds of hours on this game.
I've played DQ 4,5,6,8 and 9. I'm extremely hooked on this series!

I like the Dragon Quest series. Although I've only ever played the ninth one, it is one of my favorite video games in existence, and single-handedly won over the entire series for me. I wouldn't mind a 3DS remake for DQIX, even though it did come out for DS in the first place. Ever since they shut the internet in the game down, it hasn't really been worth it to restart the game because you would lose all of the downloaded quests for the aftergame. Anyway, I'm just rambling here. Can we ever expect another entry from Dragon Quest IX in this list in the future? I would love it if you did feature that game again.
An awesome game from an awesome series. I'm still angry we're not getting the 3DS remake, even if I can understand why they're not taking the financial risk to bring it. Memorable theme from Sugiyama for the Sphinx dungeon, it actually reminds me of the style of music he composes for final bosses. Intimidating, dark and powerful.
We're not getting the remake‽ I mean it's probably for the best since I'm sure they would bowdlerize the translation for the remake but still, DQ7 my favorite RPG so that news is quite depressing.
I just decided to play the PSX version. Finished it last year, great game. god damn Square, I WANTED THAT REMAKE

Aaand they messed with the names and dialogue of eveything. Just as I feared.
@DigitalDaftPunk They don't go too overboard with the accents and character interactions between people like Kiefer and Maribel are less stiff than the PS1 translation. Some names are better, others are worse. Overall, not a bad localization at all. Pretty fun game.
@Edward I'm going to go ahead and disagree on not giing overboard on the accents thing since every town has it's own accent. Also for some reason Kiefer's sister as a lisp.
I really enjoyed the fact that each town had its own associated accent, personally. What did they do in the original translation?
