Both this and it's sequel were fantastic on the GBA. You don't have to be a fan of the series to enjoy it for what it is. Very fun game mechanics for an RPG on the GBA
The sequel is the best by far...we shall not talk about legacy of goku 1 however...we do need another type of game like this in the series when the god sagas come out!
I mean to say Legacy of Goku II and Buus fury were fantastic. Legacy of Goku I had some serious problems which was resolved in II when it took on more standard JRPG elements such as the world map.
@Spiral. Correct, see I played buus fury first then picked up legacy of goku 2 from a pawn shop outta town...begged my dad for it...was disappointed for lack of story development but as soon as i reached the actual android saga it took a turn for the better just after the final fight with gero.

Buus fury on the other hand pits you right into the action right after the circus fights...you rush into the anime cutscenes immediately with hardly any delay save for leveling up...rushing headfirst into babadis ship is suicide and you will likely get your first gameover in there which made the game hard compared to the last which is overly hard late game with enemies that can just kill you in a matter of seconds...
This game was awesome... The soundtrack was awesome... Battle system was great... Grinding is kinda frustrating nowadays but back then I didn't care cause I had all the time in the world... I think this game is the best in the series but I haven't played Buu's Fury...
Should do it, it improves upon some of the game mechanics. The knock-backs are a little less glitchy than before. Not to mention almost all of the post story content is fun and worth doing.
Buus fury pretty much expands upon the game and the return of broly movie as a bonus...you get to play as gogeta and vegeto for a short time respectively and of course you get to play as a vast cast of characters ranging from adult gohan, goku, vegeta and majin vegeta for that period of time, trunks and goten getting gotenks at a later date, the dragonball quest is back, and super saiyan 3 goku makes a debut. The best thing about it is that the soundtrack is faithful as ever to the bruce falconer anime counterparts.
What a gem of a song.
I was never a fan of these Falcouner or western made Dragonball Z tracks. We in Germany were lucky enough to have the original soundtrack plus the two awesome DBZ openings. Instead of that, America got the shitty "Rock the Dragon" opening... This track is still really relaxing though.
Hehe, don't forget "Das Geheimnis der Dragonballs" though..
Damn, fuck that song. although there is an older version which is the same one as the Japanese opening just with German vocals, you know, the actual theme song when Dragonball was airing in Tele 5, before RTL2. (
The Falconer soundtrack is amazing.
@Owari Dragon What, it aired on Tele5 before? I was pretty sure that its first broadcast in Germany was on RTL II in the late 90s. Yeah I know the German version of Makafushigi Adventure ("Such die Dragonballs"), but I think it only shortly appeared in some episode. Or was from an OVA?

the "rock the dragon" opening was from the ocean dub. faulconer's music is from the funi dub. 2 completely different things.
With some of the best sound quality I've ever heard coming out of a GBA, this game's soundtrack is reason enough for me to want to play this game someday. I've heard great things about it. This theme has been on rotation in my relaxing playlist for quite a while now, I absolutely love the bass, especially starting at 1:17.
I'd recommend it. If you are a fan of DBZ, it does it very well. I've even noticed that they used actual show dialogue at some points.
That's a really nice song, didn't expect that! Too bad I missed it when I played the game back then, I basically muted the game all the time because I played it at 5x speed.
Whatever you do, ignore the first game in the series. It's really bad compared to the ones who come after it.
