It just occurred to me that your Best VGM list is actually the reason why I got into Persona and Shin Megami Tensei in the first place. It was years ago when I heard "Battle for Everyone's Souls" on your channel, and that song alone made me fall in love with the series. I didn't play the series until many years after I heard that song for the first time, but I'm absolutely in love with all the games now. Thank you very much for these uploads, and thank you for introducing me to a game series that has changed my life for the better in many ways. Keep being awesome.

Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of this game due to even the serious story events being made fun of by the characters. I'm not a huge fan of these first person RPGs either. Still, glad I played through it and added another persona game to the completion list. They're always so hard :s.
Walking around in first person feels a little intimidating, but I loved being able to draw out a map as I went along. And adding little notes and such. It was fun.
I agree. Building up your own map and adding the notes was the best part for me, along with the music :).
I get genuinely mad when I have to fight in this dungeon because it pulls me away from this song.
i always wanted to play a shin megami tensei game, but i've never been convinced if i wold like it or not, the games looks really cool,but can someone tell me which game is the best or which should i play first please?

Non-ironically either Persona 5 as it use a lots of gameplay mechanics from mainline SMT and/or SMT4 as it was made with new players in mind.
Now this sounds good enough to be in Persona 5.... Persona series always had a great OST.. but damn this is good!

Hmm Im not not sure if I like the First-Person perspective in this game. Can you switch to 3rd person when you want, or at least during the battles?
This game is based on another atlus game : Etrian Odyssey. So it's safe to assume that the perspective cannot be changed at all...
The best you'll get is a little view of the team during important fights and Player Advantages.
Supra, you really should play The Last of Us (PS3)! It has an AMAZING soundtrack made by gustavo santaolalla. You'll gonna like, for sure.

What do you mean, reversed notes? I’m asking as someone with no music knowledge?
@TwoKool115 I'm not a music person either, so it's not a technical term as far as I know. In context though, I meant literally that the notes were recorded and then the recording played backwards for the final piece. Because notes (and most noises) are made by a strong initial impact and then reverberate from there until they fade out, reversed recordings have a distinctive "shwwwp" sound to them, as they fade in and suddenly stop. Which game do you think I should start with? Is it better that i play/watch them in numerical order? I own a PS2, but i need to get some replacement controllers.
3 and 4 are standalone games for the most part, so you don't need to go in order. 4 has a passing reference to 3, but it's nothing major. As for which one... I'd say 4 is better gameplay wise, because it lets you command your teammates directly instead of the AI controlling them like in 3.
Do you have a PS3 by any chance? Persona 3 and Persona 4 are also available on the PSN there as well.
If you only have a PS2, you should try Persona 3 FES and Persona 4. They're both pretty good.
3. It doesn't really matter which one you start with because unlike other JRPGs like Kingdom Hearts and Xenosaga you don't need to play one to understand the other. I just said 3 because it's my personal favorite.
simple. You want the best gameplay : Persona 4 You want a better story, characters and arguably music: Persona 3 FES/ Portable It's almost factual, not even a matter of opinion.

A Persona spin-off for the 3DS, it's only been released in Japan so far but I've heard great things about it. The soundtrack is just as big as a mainline title and seems to be full of quality tracks from Meguro & Co. This particularly lenghty theme was composed by Toshiki Konishi... lengthy in a good way, especially when it plays in what I'll assume is a major (final?) dungeon, preventing it from feeling too repetitive after a lot of time spent running around. I'm a big fan of the chants during the segment 2+ minutes in.
I was about to say this is a really freaking long track. But it only makes me more excited for the game. I'm definitely gonna pick it up.
I have not played a game from the Persona series, but I am really interested in getting this game. I may try to get it at Toys R Us when they do a sale for buy one game and get another half off (I don't think it's half off, but it's in the ballpark). I am really enjoying this song a lot. Nice and varied, which is a good thing for long themes.
@Eric C. I think you'll enjoy this a lot more if you familiarize yourself with Persona 3 and 4. I'm not saying you should play them, but try to learn the basic plot behind each game, so you can understand better when does this one take place.
@Eric C. playing Persona Q before persona 3 and 4 is a silly/nonsensical mistake. This is a game for the fans. Stop and go play persona 3 and 4
@heyjeySigma Have you even played the game? Like, I have heard a lot of reviewers and just people in general saying that playing P3 and P4 before isn't really that important.
@Dangan Fan It's not as it doesn't reveal major plot points from either game (only assuming), but someone who's familiar with the cast and what they've been up to might enjoy the game a lot more than someone who's visiting this world for the first time.
@Dangan Fan you like danganronpa huh.. well then, think of it like playing danganronpa 2 without playing danganronpa 1. Sure you can, but is it recommended? NO. now take the same concept with persona Q
@heyjeySigma I like Dangan Ronpa, too, but it's not the same. DR2 is a direct sequel, but PQ is a spin-off story that takes place in the middle of each of the game's plot. It happens right before each game's major plot points.
@heyjeySigma Wait, whaaaaattt?! Dangan Ronpa 2 is a direct sequel, literally, Dangan Ronpa 1 is completely spoiled during the Game. Persona Q just has the characters. Like, I'm pretty sure that except a reeeeallly summarized argument of what happens in both games is briefly told.
@Dangan Fan fair enough, i stand corrected. But you'll be missing out on character backgrounds and everything if you never played P3 and 4, that's all. The choice is yours of course. I just wouldnt recommend it

Eric... Please play Persona. It's the best series of all time. Start with 3 because it's the greatest game of all time IMO.
Also love the chants,and what seems to be xylophone mixed with guitar.
Persona 4 and 3 have animes, if you don't want to play the game (and in 3's case, don't mind having just subs)
