I love the lore and mythology in this game so much. The stories at the graveyard were the best.
Come on dude, don't bring it down to being just "a Pokémon clone". The story was much more than just catching and merging monsters, it was a proper game with plenty of dialogues (though no choices), a good story progression, additional background storytelling from that old man and decent characters too. Also that US cover art is hideous!
Seen it, Played it, LOVED IT!!!! My best and favorite monsters was a Water Dragon, A Fire Troll, and a Wind Armored Rhino/Dog/Unicorn Beast (Forgot what each of them were called.) Also Combined a Bird and a Turtle and called it a TURD!!!! XD Overall... I'd wish they had Cool Pokemon Clones on PS4... I miss playing Jade Cocoon, yet I still have the game. I also Recommend Moonrise on PC. Yet I never played it...
I'll build a time machine for all of us guys... So we can go back and relive those memories... Those amazing memories...
if it wasn't for the demo disc that had this game on it i wouldn't of had the full game today, i use to play this demo over and over again back in the day because i didn't have the full game then, ahh memories and the nostalgia is real on this one :D

This game is a underrated gem.
Loved the soundtrack and visual design of this game. Shame about the load times, though. This particular song reminds me a great deal of Michiko Naruke's Wild Arms work.

Enjoyed this game a ton when I played through it back in the day! I guess the closest thing we get to a "Pokemon clone", other then this, would be SMT and Robopon.
Oh god this game. The memories. I remember lending my cousin my ps1 memory card and when I got it back my saves were gone. I was heartbroken since I was near the end of the game. I decided not to be down and play through it again. Sheer determination made me want to see it through to the end and I did. This game did not disappoint, I'd recommend picking it up, it is a PS1 classic.
Like the tribal touch to this tune, and the whistling is pretty calming.
A solid RPG, I especially liked it since it felt like a 3D Pokemon clone with a nice tribal touch. I never played the sequel on PS2 though. I'm fairly surprised there aren't more Pokemon clones in general, especially on non-Nintendo consoles. Uploads should start being more regular starting next week, I've had a very busy month and a half!
You should see the iPad App Store then. ... On second thought, don't. The Pokemon clones are frightening.

Hello SD! Nice song again. May I suggest some albums/songs? I think your list really needs some Unreal songs from the very first Unreal. The game and the soundtrack both could be described as ”highly atmospheric”. OST is composed mainly by Alexander Brandon & Michiel van den Bos! I recommend "Shared Dig" and "Hub 3 (Spire)", but the whole soundtrack is truly awesome and in my opinion deserves a place on your list. Rogue Legacy has some cool songs ("Whale. Shark." for example) and the game itself is cool too. Also, Age of Empires II has a very nice soundtrack. More JRPG songs would also be nice (Ni No Kuni field theme maybe?). Personally MegaDrive/Genesis songs are always welcome. For example Bio-Hazard battle has kind of funky and ”alien” songs. I recently started to play Valkyrie Profile 2 and noticed that the series composer is the one and only Motoi Sakuraba. Can’t say anything about the music yet, though. Have you played it (or listened to its soundtrack), Supra? To me Sakuraba has been kind of disappointing lately (because of Tales of Graces F & Tales of Xillia) Sorry for the long post. Honestly it expanded kind of accidentally. I mainly wrote this because of the Unreal songs so I hope that you listen to its soundtrack or at least those two songs if you’ve time. I’ve enjoyed your playlist for many years and quality is still as high as about 1500 songs before, so keep it going!
Pokemon came out in a time when Game Developers were decidedly NOT just ripping off what ever was popular, adding space marines with absolutely no personality, covering the textures with their own diarrhea to make it "Realistic" and putting their trademark on it.
You should totally try Jade Cocoon 2! Imho it is far better than the first one. I sank so much time into it, the clock/time counter thingy broke (Wouldn't count past 1000 hours of playtime) XD

+SupraDarky Don't bother picking up Jade Cocoon 2. It's extremely... baby-fied for a lack of better term. The dark theme of ruin and purification is done away with. The cocoon masters are basically pokemon trainers; the "soothing souls" bit never enters the equation. The mythology that makes this game so compelling is gone. Major disappointment.
I should recommend Terra Monsters on Mobile... The second sequel is just frickin dark as hell though...
That's pretty funny if you consider that Pokemon is kind of a Shin Megami Tensei clone and those games are still going strong.
