this was one of my favorites from the tales series in terms of protagonists, because yuri isn't a boring typical good guy... tales series is my favorite rpg series. unless you count fire emblem.
Reminds me a lot of "Robo Gang Johnny" from CT for some reason... Anyone?

This sounds exactly like something that would be in Final Fantasy VIII, and Final Fanasy VIII is my second favourite Final Fantasy pretty much by the grace of its music alone, so that's a good thing. I might need to play this one.
@SupraDarky Im sure you get requests to listen to soundtracks all the time, but I think you should really check out the OST for "edge". It is a relentless puzzle game with a pop/jazz soundtrack that is definately worth checking out.
The bassline in this sound a little bit like the bass guitar in "Like a Drug" by Queens of the Stone Age. Also this video was posted on my birthday. Awesome
Quite a memorable game. Like for many, it was also my first Tales of game and it captured everything that I liked about RPGs then. That, and it was a somehow good turn compared to other RPGs that were coming out, since there were not too many great games of that genre back on that generation of consoles during that time.
i just got the ps3 version of this a month ago, the game's a blast(ia).
I wonder if this another song written by a different composer and put under the Sakuraba umbrella.
I am trying to discover good soundtracks from games I have never heard of. Do you upload music from well known games or some not so well known as well?

Agreeing with the general consensus, that Graces' highlight is the combat system. Even the characters had a lot of flaws.. Malik was a lot of fun to have around, at least. Still gotta finish Xillia, but it seemed decent.
Never really played most of the Tales games, but some the soundtracks were awesome from what I have heard. This song has a little bit of FF8 influence in it, it sounds like.
I really wish they would port the ps3 version to the US.
Shame the PS3 version never came over here, I would've gotten one just for it..
Vesperia and Abyss are still my favorites. Graces F had awesome combat, unfourtunatly the story and characters where kinda bad :( Really dissapointed in Xillia :( Just couldnt get into it.
I just finished Xillia... First half was good. Second half it really fell apart for me personally. Didn't love it by the end. :P

Tales of Vesperia is really great. It was the first entry in the series I played, so I was unsure about it, but it's amazing. Just don't be put off by the main character's purple hair.
As you can see, people have very different opinions around here!

Obscure? It's part of a franchise that has been around 19 years now. Besides the 14 Main titles, and numerous spin-off games, there's adapted Anime's and OVA's. It's even regarded as being the third biggest RPG franchise in Japan, just behind Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. I suggest giving the games a try (Especially Tales of the Abyss) as lots of the games are truly fantastic. To me they are better than FF or DQ, which is saying alot cause I love me some FF, lol.

Despite his reputation, and as a true Tales of fan ( ToP, ToD, ToE, ToS, ToS2, TotA, ToV, ToGf, ToX done ), i don't really enjoy Vesperia ( but its OST is great ), and maybe its my least favorite game of the serie. The main problem I have with the game is the core of a Tales of game : the gameplay in fights. It was so much annoying, and clearly worse than its predecesor : Abyss.
I will admit that I am not too much of a fan of the JRPG genre anymore due to me blatantly sucking at them as I just don't have the time to grind nowadays but one thing I will admit, they have always been fantastic at creating massive worlds with beautiful soundtracks and Tales of Vesperia is most definitely one of those games, I would say it fits in with my favorites of last generation, including Lost Odyssey and Ni No Kuni and my absolute favorite: Valkyria Chronicles.. What a stunning game!
Ah, I've always come to love the desert and snow towns in RPGs. It's a shame Vesperia didn't really have a snow town, though.
A simple, yet memorable tune from one of my favorite games in the series. Fitting for the hot sunny day we have here. I haven't played Graces or Xillia yet, but I will eventually as I'll need my "Tale of" fix soon. Tales of Zestiria seems to be changing the formula a bit, it'll be interesting to see how it turns out.
Graces has probably the best combat system in the series,but everything else is not so great.Xillia does nothing extraordinary well,but is overall a pretty good game. Xillia 2 is apprently great,too.
@Szadek23 what you said. I played about 30-40 hours of Graces and just completely lost interest a year ago. Combat was awesome, everything else is crap.. literally everything else (mostly story and characters, which is what rpgs NEED)
@***** ah btw, ur avatar is from xenogears isnt it? I tried playing it too but it didnt hook me into the story and characters. I did love Xenosaga games so much tho.. is it just me or am I one of the few people who cant get into xenogears? ( i played maybe 10-15 hrs and got to that prison colony(?) place)
@heyjeySigma That's where the story really kicks off. It's a slow paced game to be sure but it does pick up eventually.
@Szadek23 I agree that Graces had a super fun combat system. But I also thought its characters were great. They had great chemistry and the skits were actually really funny. Xillia is just an all around great game.
