TB, Wii U version is the best imo, but Steam/PC is most accessible. The controls and menus are designed to work with the touch screen so you don't have to press start.

What would have been extra cool: Like in Megaman, every Boss has a little preview, when you select his stage, and then they would use their ability. Like Treasure Knight would use his Anchor Cannon, Propeller Knight his Blade, and Plague Knight his poisonous Chemicals, and so on.

Explodatorium is the best song I'd have to say. And it turns out both this one and that one are by Manami Matsume, not Jake Kaufman. Lady's got real talent. Jake's got a lot of talent too (just listen to Mt. Vesuvius from Ducktales Remastered), but this and Explodatorium are just amazing.

You do plan on uploading one of the songs Kaufman actually worked on, right? I don't mean to sound pushy or take away from the awesomeness of this song. But the majority of this game's ost was, as you said yourself, composed by Virt many songs of which are on par with this track imho. A little recognition never hurt anybody.

This game is amazing. The soundtrack probably is my favorite part, my favorite being Strike the Earth.

I agree. Best theme in the game. Who was your favorite boss? Mine was Specter Knight. He reminded me of death from Castlevania.

Wasn't Shovel Knight composed by Jake Kaufman? I love him. Well, not literally but he is one of the most talented game music composers. DD NEON, Bloodrayne Betrayal, Duck Tales Remastered and even Retro City Rampage had awesome soundtracks :)

Favorite track so far is the mole knight's area, but they are all great. At 1:19 that part reminds me of jeepers creepers.

The beginning of this track sounds very similar to the capsule room that unlocks the path to King's fortress in Mega Man & Bass! The guys at Yacht Club Games have done a great job on this game.

Do you mean the sound quality or the song itself? The soundtrack for this game was written to be in the style of the NES console (with a support chip like the one in the Japanese version of Castlevania 3).

This game has an awesome soundtrack indead , can't stop listening to The Schemer , tinker knight might be my favourite knight in this game too.

I was kinda sceptical in playing this game because I thought it would be one of those overly difficult games akin to the classic NES games. But if it's easily approachable, then I'll reconsider giving it a shot.

This game gives a fair challenge the first time through. New Game + on the other hand is a different story. I love this game and I'm pretty sure I'll go through it again after I beat New Game +. It really gives Mega Man 2/ Castlevania 3 vibes and reminds me of why I loved the NES when I was a kid.

The difficulty is very manageable with multiple checkpoints and (free!) healing items. You can beat just about any boss by phasing through their attacks with the locket, and then even if you don't there are the healing items. That said, there are a few potentially-rage-inducing moments (like fan enemies whose whole purpose is to blow you off of platforms and into bottomless pits) but overall not bad imo.

Im at the end of the game as well! So good! And I agree with you about the difficulty. A little too easy for me. But tons of fun!!!!

You've gotta give New Game + a try. It definitely amps the difficulty up. Only 2 checkpoints per stage, all the food trays drop bombs, all enemies take a full heart when they hit you.

Been listening to a lot of music from Crypt of the Necrodancer, I expect to see at least a couple tracks on here shortly. (Comes out tomorrow I believe) From what I've listened to Zone 1 Level 3 is my favorite.

This is a perfect example of why Kickstarter can be awesome for video game fans. I bought this game Day 1 and am nearing the end, I've been having a lot fun. It takes parts from Mega Man, Castlevania, Duck Tales, Mario 3 and Zelda II to create the most entertaining game I've played this year. The mostly easy difficulty is perharps a bit of a negative, but there is some challenge to be found from time to time, especially if you break some of the checkpoints and don't spam the phase bracer. The soundtrack will easily be a contender for best of the year. It's mostly composed by Jake Kaufman, but there are a few tracks like this one composed by none other than Manami Matsumae, mainly known for her work on the very first Mega Man. She hasn't lost her touch!

I am not sure how the Kickstarter escaped me, but I will be getting this game eventually. I am also loving the music so far from Kaufman and Matsumae.
