Never played this game but, the tone and vibe is so calming. Love it
While I never grew up with PSO I had the Dreamcast theme for 3DS. I bought it around late 2016 so Hearing this theme reminds me of that time between then and the Switch coming out where I still used the thing almost daily. It's interesting how much nostalgia this theme invokes even on the 3DS.
One of this game's most interesting moves was being re-released on Gamecube and Xbox. I wonder how many people would have missed it if it wasn't released to GC and XBox as well. I never even had a Dreamcast and had a blast playing this on the GC. Purely offline tho. Until i played the game on PC on a private server - i really felt stupid how good the game actually was online with its full potential, it already was an amazing blast offline. we used to always meet up and play together bringing our memory cards
Love this masterpiece very much.First time I heard this melody a couple of mounth ago....and love it at first notes ;) This reminds me another my favorite melodie from Final Fantasy XIII - The Vestige.

Never played PSO so this mainly reminds me of my 3DS theme I bought Almost a year ago. It was at the height of me playing a bunch of Sonic Titles and getting into other SEGA games so I like This theme a lot.

well, technically the game is still up, you just have to play it on the private servers, there are still players playing, I play from time to time on mi Wii (yes it is possible to play it online there, in case you are interested search for videos about it here) and play it on Schthack server, but there are other 2

@nie ooi well there's Phantasy Star Online 2 for pc and now there's a fanmade english Patch for the game, since SEGA promised but NEVER released this game outside of Japan. coming soon for vital theres going to be: Phantasy Star NOVA, you can also play, Phantasy star Portable 1 and 2 for the PSP, Phantasy Star Zero for DS, Phantasy Star Universe (ps2, ps3, 360) and Phantasy Star Universe: Ambition of the Illuminus, you can choose one and play it. If you wanna play PSO, theres plenty of people playing on the Schthack Private Sever, there are a community and people playing the dreamcast, gamecube and pc editions
Played a demo of one of the PSP games some time ago, it was pretty neat. Don't really like the character designs, though.

There will never be another PSO game as good as episodes 1-3. I was madly addicted to this franchise despite only being able to play online a few times. And the music has always been terrific also.

No internet and still spent hundred of hours on it trying several builds, you're not alone bro. There's also the Hack.Gu trilogy on PS2 wich recreates an online game being offline, playing online games offline is fun sometimes.
@LaruKun I remember the .hack series. Never got way into it... does playing Ragnarok Online single player on your own custom server after the server files leaked count, though? ¬_¬
@Hiryuu Honyaku What's the point in playing in your own server if you can't spawn baphomet in your friend's faces :D Also opening 100 dead branches one after another, good times.

@LaruKun Omg yes! I hot keyed those bad boys. I remember when I made my first 5mil and found some bloody brances vending cheap. I brought a ton and just spawned hell in the non trans map and watch as all my friends freak out!

I did play this game once 14 years ago, it didn't really wow me. I did not however get a chance to listen to all the music in it. Thanks for making this piece known, it's very relaxing and puts me in an atmosphere to... play play videogames lol.
I've never played PSO but I still know IDOLA have the divine blade or Olga Flow Battle Theme 2(depending on the youtube video your looking at) is probably the best track in this game.

Back when SEGA had its shit mostly together, and wanted to wow players by any means necessary. I miss you SEGA.
Oh Gods, how I miss playing this game with my bros. This was an awesome game. Tried playing PSO2, but the hour long patchings (which were constant) and the language barrier (even with the translation patches) proved too high a hurdle to overcome. I can only hope that they bring this game over here. Until then, I might have to play this one on a private server.

This really takes me back. I have great love for Phantasy Star Online and hearing this song again really brings me back to those days making friends online in the Dreamcast days. This was my first online console game, and will forever be high on my list of great action RPGs.

I have some of the greatest memories with this game. Such a fun game on xbox until hackers and glitch exploits ruined the game with all the over-powered weapons and mags. Not only that but they also duplicated everything so trading was pointless and meseta. I'm playing PSO 2 (JP) and I wish it would get released Internationally. Would also be great on PS4 since that platform is already running F2P games like DCUO.
PSO2 is coming to XB1 and PC in Spring 2020! It's also coming to PS4 and Switch, but there's no word on when that'll be.
Nostalgia has been triggered. Can't believe this game is 14 years old, I still remember playing it as if it was yesterday. I wasn't even aware that Phantasy Star Online 2 released in Japan last year. The series' sci-fi setting is very well realised and refreshing, and Kobayashi's music is always solid. This is the game that propelled his composing career.
Thanks for this song, i still play the game online in my Wii, and I have the full OST is incredible, i play the full soundtrack when I have to work all night long in my computer. My favorite songs from PSO are (every track for this game, but this I love the most): Can still see the light, Jungle (A lush load), Leaving flow, Silent palace (Premium Edition). :)
It's weird how a song you have no memory can reappear at the first playing of a few notes, fully formed again like you've never forgotten it. I heard this song on loop a billion times, but until now, it might as well have been entirely erased from my brain.
I wish PSO2 is coming to USA or Europe some day... even after 2 years ;A;
