I think the name Tatsumairi is a typo, and that it was always called Tazmily Village. The Japanese pronunciation is “Tazumili”, and if you add just an A in between the “m” and the “i”, it becomes “Tazumaili”, hence, Tatsumairi.

It's interesting that this theme mainly remained untouched in the real Mother 3.
Huh? I'm sorry... but I really think it's the other way around, this one resembles very little with Mother 3's incarnation. In fact, it simply doesn't have the same Mother 3 "feel" to it... which would be the complete opposite with the remaining EB64 songs, in my humble opinion.
Does anyone else think of Salsa when they hear this song?

This song is so Charming, the engine on the 64 was pretty, makes me really sad that this game wasnt released..
It's weird knowing this melody was used in the Porky fight.
The Cancellation of this game was a bigger Disapointment then the 64DD I feel sad enough to cry right now to hear this knowing We're not going to see this game in action as a full game

The graphics look pretty good for the N64! Too bad the DD did so poorly and we lost this title. Oh well, the version that came out on the GBA 16 years later is my favorite game of all time! ^^ Also, I read that the N64DD version was supposed to be A LOT darker and the ending was supposedly going to be more obscure. Can't remember where though...Also, the fan made sequel MOTHER 4 comes out this Winter! :D
I love Earthbound. One of my favorite games of all time. When I heard about Mother 3, I just had to play it. So I did. Got near the end, then my saved game bugged up. Had to start from scratch. On the second attempt, maybe halfway through, saved game messed up again. Had to restart from the beginning ALL over again. So frustrating... It's been a year or two since my last try. I like the game, but it doesn't feel anywhere near as good as Earthbound, and that's probably why I haven't pushed to beat it. That and the saved game bullshit I've dealt with thus far. Bummer for me, huh?
Hopefully Nintendo will give us Mother 3 on the Wii U eShop like they did with EarthBound.

For some reason this rendition sounds very close to what you can hear in Super Smash Bros Brawl as far as Mother 3 songs go.
Damnit, SupraDarky, now I've got to go re-play Mother 3 again.
Its a shame we'll never be able to play this version but at least we can hear this theme :). I need to play Mother 3 one of these days.

Definitely, a game that had 4 years of development behind it, and the sequel to a beloved franchise. I'm sure Nintendo was hesitant to cancel it considering the resources, hours, and money put into it.
It still makes me sad to this day that we were never able to play this game. And considering how pleasant this music sounds, it makes me wonder how great the rest of the soundtrack would've been.

All of the Mother games are great by fact. All of the people who have hated on it obviously haven't played much of it and don't know what they are talking about when they complain about the graphics, story, soundtrack, characters etc. I can respect having opinions but you need to play all of the game and you need to know what you are talking about and not just trying to be a hipster. There is a reason why the series has gotten such a HUGE and dedicated fanbase.
I'm so glad that they did at least release Mother 3 (and that there was a fan base dedicated enough to translate it). It's a fantastic game.
Sorry in advance for reopening the wound of never being able to play this game, eventhough we did get the mostly equivalent title on the GBA. It's interesting to note that Keichii Suzuki (composer of Earthbound) is the one who actually composed this theme for the N64, as it's also in Mother 3 with its soundtrack composed by Shogo Sakai. It's one of my favorite themes in Mother 3 so I'm not surprised it was originally Suzuki's work.

I know this is an old comment, but I would like to know where the bit about Mr. Suzuki composing this theme came from. IIRC, Itoi said that neither Suzuki or Hirokazu Tanaka could compose music for MOTHER 3 due to them not willing to commit to the project full-time, especially given to the dynamic, almost chaotic nature of the game's stretched development at the time (MOTHER 2's development troubles are almost nothing compared to M3's, IMO).
