Super Mario 3D Land was the first 3DS game I played and it became my most favorite 3DS game as a 11 year old. This track is one of my most favorite overworld themes in Mario games.

You're very welcome! I'm always happy to help others experience a great game, and Ocarina of Time is a great game no matter what platform you play it on. But I do think that the 3DS Version is possibly the best one, for the reasons I stated in my earlier comment. Also, A Link Between Worlds looks great. I myself have played A Link To The Past, and this looks like it'll be about as good! Fingers crossed! :)
I love this theme but i love its jazz remix even more :).
The controls sure were weird, but they are nowhere near as weird as Super Mario 3D World's demo. Mario feels so floaty it is kinda disturbing... Oh well, we'll see when the game comes out, but I'm a bit skeptic on the controls front (the level design and the cat suit are so much fun though !)

Damn,this was an addicting game. Perfect mix of 2D and 3D Mario gameplay,ideal for a handheld Mario game.

Weird, I found the controls top notch responsive. I guess it depends on the user. I rarely used the long jumps, though.
Sir, Thank you very much for the readily response. My biggest concern was the controls. But you just put a smile on my face. I'll definitely look into getting a 3DS XL and OOT. Hopefully it'll go on sale towards the end of this year. I really want to play the Paper Mario 3ds also (big fan of the paper mario series) and hopefully the new upcoming Zelda game (LTBW) will be amazing...though skeptical since Shigeru Miyamoto isn't involve....:((((

I sort of like that it' simple. If it wasn't I would only be able to see it as an inferior Galaxy. It's kind of pointless to try putting a lot of depth into a portable game because it will always be worse than a console in that regard.
This game was good but it will never hold a candle to the likes of Super Mario World or Super Mario Galaxy 2.

I have to say I was very disappointed with 3D Land. Sure, it's fun, it looks pretty but the stages are way, way too simple and short. But now I understand that it was very simple because it is a watered down version of 3D World which was in developement before this game. The music was also good.
You're a Mario fan and yet you hate linear games? :/ I mean sure, not all of the games in the series are linear but...
Linear games need to get aids and die. Fast. That's the only reason this game is bad.
The only thing that makes me excited about Super Mario 3D World is that it will probably had a level design as great as this one had. Definitely one of the best 3DS games.
I have the Zelda Edition 3DS; so if SupraDarky's response (if he responds) isn't enough, here's my take: Yes, Ocarina of Time is a FANTASTIC game, even on the 3DS. The controls are very tight and responsive, about as good as the N64's (if not better). The graphics are beautiful, everything just looks STUNNING. So yes, since you haven't played the 3D version, I can personally tell you that it's a great game, and certainly worth purchasing. :)
I don't think that's the controls themselves; I think that's just you. I've never had a problem with them, which is contrary to your opinion, of course. I also completed the game 100%, and I feel that even the Special Stages aren't challenging enough. But I did greatly enjoy the game, and I still go back to play it once in a while, or to beat my time in certain stages. :B
I wish I liked this game more, the big open parts always ended in disappointment seeing as they go straight back into linear platforming. Any parts you could explore got interrupted by the damn timer.
It's a good song but I wish they had different songs for more of the levels. It was the same in new super mario brothers >.>
If I may ask, have you played OOT on the 3DS? What's your opinion of the game? Is it worth buying? Is the 3D any good? What about the controls? The N64 Controller was Perfect IMO for Zelda OOT
If there's one thing I didn't like, it's the controls, which is very surprising for a franchise that always nails them. It takes too long for Mario to build up enough speed and momentrum to pull off long distance jumps, which resulted in a lot of failed and frustrating attempts. I learned to run around in a circle before going for a jump so I had good enough speed, but that really wasn't ideal.
What a great and fun game this was. I went through all the stages with a constant smile on my face, then I realized there was another much harder half to the game with the Special worlds... At that point my smile sometimes had to give way to my game face, especially the very last bonus stage! There's a suprising amount of content and challenges if you want to 100% the game. Played the whole game with full 3D as well.
