I came back to this little underpraised masterpiece of a space song! I love it sooooo much!! Kudos for finding it and a really sincere thank you for sharing your love for videogame music with us!!! :D
Not to mention i'm pretty sure it'd fry the smartphones. Video-game hardware is always 2-3 generations ahead of what common computing hardware is capable of unassisted because it's specialized. Idk if even the best iphone could handle the most intensive 3DS games.

But Nintendo is the only one whose hardware is gonna allow for some really awesome and unique games... unless the Kinect hits big, but after playing Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and Nintendoland, I'm more excited about what the Wii U can do.

Nintendo is the king and always has been. The people saying that are just not in their target demographic, notably kids and parents. Look at the sales of the Wii, it shattered Xbox and Playstation, and as you pointed out their handhelds reign supreme. However, if they stopped making hardware I could see their sales go up a lot because as much as I like their games, I haven't really got their recent consoles because of the lack of good games, other than Nintendo exclusives.
A pretty fun and free spaceshooter on Mobile. I have to say, since I read this again today, I find it pretty sad when some people truly believe Nintendo should stop making hardware and put most of their games on smartphones, especially since they're doing so well with their own handheld. Nintendo says it'd decrease their brand value and I completely agree.
