I understand your views on Kingdom Hearts, to be sure. The blend between light and dark is amazing in these games, and the morals they throw in there are nice too. What did you think of Dream Drop Distance though? I never played BBS, so I can't say my opinion on that, but I did like DDD. More-so for it's story and gameplay,and some of it's music. It wasn't the best game, but as I went through it, it kinda grew on me. It was the last levels that sold it for me, as opposed to the other levels >.<;

You're better off doing so because the normal KH2 is way too easy, even on Proud Mode. KH2 Final Mix really improves the whole game with Critical Mode and other additions.
In a future where KH3 is now out, your comment is one that is literally repeating itself. People saying KH3 is way too easy, even on Proud Mode. We'll never learn from the past, will we?
Hey Supra, what are your thoughts on Kingdom Hearts 3D?
Yeah I only put about 3-4 hours in each spin-off but I finished a whole path in BBS and some of the magic is missing in all of them. You just never feel 'woah I am in this all new world, and there are the characters I know!'. The extra end-game stuff is always lacking too. They could have been on Kingdom Hearts 4 by now if they put all the handheld effort into a PS3/360 or Wii title.

non mainline game wise (havent played DDD) i really enjoyed 358/2 and BBS however i dont quite understand coded fitting in story wise. wasnt too thrilled gameplay wise either

They add almost nothing. Most of the sense making things they add, you could sum up in 30 minutes worth of cutscenes that you sprinkle over the course of the 3rd game. They just wanted to put it off while they worked on XIII, XV, and the Dissidia games I'm betting.
Hope this is a combo of the first 2. Awesome worlds/exploration and story of the first game with the excellent action and enemies of the 2nd one. They've got combat down, but with every entry the worlds seem smaller and less alive. KH2 had a great selection of locations but all the places in KHI felt like I was really there. I would clear all the enemies in Traverse Town and then just well, traverse the town! I could do that everywhere! In KH2 I was only compelled to do that with some worlds.
Besides that, the worlds in KH1 are way, way more fleshed out than in KH2. Compare worlds like Atlantis, Halloween Town, Monstro to the worlds in KH2.

Yeah, one was way better. Two was worse in basically every way other than graphics.
As do I, for me it may just be nostalgia, but I found the blending of disney elements stronger in the first game. In the second game and onwards, disney's role felt more "tacked on" instead of a nice even amount.
If you stick to the two main games in the series, on the PS2, then it's actually a pretty fun little series to get into. All of the spinoffs are negligible because they don't really add anything significant to the story except for more convoluted crap. The Disney factor adds a lot of charm, I'd recommend at least trying the first title since you can get it cheap anyways.
I hope I get to play the first game when the remix of it comes out in fall... And when I get a Play Station...

Ah, Shimomura. We first met in Super Mario RPG on the SNES. We've crossed paths ever since in games like Mario and Luigi series, Radiant Historia, and the Kingdom Hearts series. Lookin' forward to Kingdom Hearts III. You rarely, if ever disappoint.

I definitely prefer the first game. Not even nostalgia talking since I only got to try them a couple of yeasr ago.
Ironically I found that the game in this series with my favorite tracks is 358/2. Despite everything else about it being fairly mediocre if not horrible I liked the music. Completely agree with you on BBS, Neverland was the only world that didn't feel like a hallway. Looking forward to 3 for sure though.
We all knew KH3 would be announced at some point, but it was definitely a nice surprise to see it at this E3. I'll be honest, I do like this series but not as much as many of its fans. The thing I really love about KH is its unique blend of light and dark atmosphere and the fun battle system. I didn't really enjoy any of the non-mainline games, even the acclaimed BBS which I thought felt completely lifeless with its barren worlds. But I liked KH1&2, so I'm looking forward to 3 after seven years!
