Evermore has a special place in my heart. Was quite shocked to find out that this was Soules first project, and he was only 19!.
I really enjoyed this game but wish the story had been a little darker towards the end. While I was playing it I had imagined that the Professor was frantically trying to repair his machine for years to try to bring the other characters back, oblivious to the fact that he was trapped in Evermore as well.
No love for Super Mario RPG huh? I would have thought that ranked higher for you, since I know you love the music.
I now the game, just wasn't sure about the abbreviation. Also, I like it a lot too. I hate having to juggle which characters to use for when and level up though, and I don't like TBB enough to play through the game a second time just to see slightly different dialogue...

I find it kinda cool that you uploaded this track right as NintendoCapriSun is uploading an LP of the same game, and that you mentioned Super Metroid right as I'm replaying that game.
Mysterious and wonderful come to mind when listening to most of the music of SoE. The atmosphere around the game sure is incredible.

I'm curious as to how you think snes rpgs stack up against ps1 rpgs? Btw I'm a bit surprised that Mario RPG isn't in your top 5 snes rpgs, as you said in another vid that it was among your most replayed rpgs.
Ah, another one of my favorite rpgs. This had an awesome feel to it that makes me nostalgic just thinking about it! Also, it helps that NintendoCapriSun is LPing this game right now.
They really need to re-release that on the Wii U's virtual console or something.

Have you played Seiken Densetsu 3, the more true 'sequel' to Secret of Mana?

Never did get a chance to check this one out. Also, your top 5 RPGs is depressingly lacking in Illusion of Gaia... though I'll cut you some slack since it'd be hard to prune something out, but it better be #6!
The more I replay this game and the more time passes, the more I like it. It's probably now my 5th favorite RPG on the SNES behind CT, Earthbound, FF6 and Secret of Mana. The atmosphere it creates however is my favorite, only rivaled by Super Metroid on the console. Jeremy Soule played a major part in creating such a unique atmosphere with his mix of melodies, reverb and ambient sounds.
