Yeah but I some memorable songs of these game are this one and love. Really good ones... And waterfall actually is a remake of one of themes on Super Castlevania IV, go check it out :)
Super Castlenia 4 has the best sountrack over all.
I got the special edition to get the soundtrack and it was well worth the extra $10. I'm hoping the sequel also has a similar package. I loved this castlevania, but to me super castlevania 4 will always be the best.

I know this isn't exactly related, but I feel like mentioning that I was playing SOTN yesterday (a blind playthrough) and started replaying Super Metroid the day before. It wasn't deliberate, honest!
I honestly think this is one of the best Castlevania games out there. (The best ones are Symphony Of The Night, Circle Of Moon, the first one, Bloodlines, Chronicles, Dawn Of Sorrow and this one IMHO). It's the first time where I felt the plot was actually meaningful and fairly well made. It also helps that the production values are off the fucking roof.
I still say Castlevania Lament of Innocense, is the better 3D Castlevania. And that music from that game. <3
This right here is a man that understands there is more to music than tapping your foot to it. Follow his example and look deeper.

Haters going to hate but this was my first Castlevania and thanks to LOS I have played many of the titles: SOTN, all the DS entries, Super Castlevania 4, Rondo of blood....I absolutely love Castlevania thanks to MercurySteam's interpretation and can't help but get angry when apparent "die hard fans" trash LOS, its an amazing render of a current-gen modern Castlevania with the only story beyond superficial "slay dracula, hes evil" template but thats just me. Cannot wait for LOS2.
Oh OK, I get what you're saying. As games get more cinematic it seems like the music is becoming more atmospheric and less memorable :(

Do you really consider it "well composed" if it's completely unmemorable? That seems like a pretty good reason to NOT call the composition good.
i liked the gameplay and graphics of this game but was dissappointed about the music, the music did not say "castlevania" to me.
When compared to previous 3D Castlevania games, this is easily my favorite one. I actually love it on its own, it's a very solid game with an interesting battle system (light/dark) and amazing graphics. The music was the most disappointing part, it's well composed but it's just "there", in the background. Most of it doesn't stand out (with exceptions like the Waterfalls theme). This final battle theme, however, is absolutely great and memorable. I posted a live version in the description.
