I never played the original, but this game was really cool because it was one of the few at the time where you had the choice to be not a genocidle maniac

I don't know how to feel about Human Revolution. As a standalone game, it's fantastic, having some of the best gameplay of the past few years. As a sequel to the original Deus Ex, which up until recently with my finally playing Telltale's Walking Dead was my favourite game of all time, it feels shallow, linear and utterly dissapointing. It's a good game - I just don't think it comes anywhere near the original. It is infinitely better than Invisible War, which I find to be just horrific, though.

I'd say the first one is the best by far since it was like something I never played before when it came out. It was a new genre in a way. I think this is a worhty successor though. It's waaaay better than invisible war.
Appropriately, very reminiscent of Ghost in the Shell. Is there now officially a "cyberpunk" genre of music?
To think I got this game off PSN for free and got the original Deus Ex from a consignment shop for 4 bucks...what a great way to get into the series eh? But honestly, I'd gladly give them the full price for both these games. That damn good~
I love the mix of acoustic instruments and the electronic melody and instruments that exist throughout the piece. It's such a great blend, and is fitting for a game which heavily goes into depth on what it means to be human, and whether being "augmented" is necessary and right. Brilliant music, brilliant game.
Granted, it was all kinds of insane when it was released. But certain mechanics haven't aged that well in my opinion, and I feel if I would be introduced to these games today, I would go with the more recent one. That's not to say the original is a bad game, faaaar from it :)
The original Deus Ex was so much more when it was released. I mean think back to that time. There really wasn't anything like it.

This tune is LONG overdue for this list. It sounds like the kind of music when you die and go to heaven. 0:00 to 1:24 is like your last dying moments, 1:25 to 1:55 is your spirit rising from the body, 1:56 to 3:22 is the blinding light as you ascend rapidly upwards, and 3:23 to 3:42 sees you looking upon the pearly gates in all their glory. All in all, truly breathtaking stuff!

Awesome choice. This game is in my top 3 of all time - I love it to bits. And the soundtrack is indeed, quite superb.
I'll be short: Awesome game, nearly as good as the first one. But still not as good as the first storywise in my opinion.
Never played the original, but HR is a brilliant game, outside of the boss fights and the final mission.
The first game is one of my favorite games of all time, so I was excited for HR. I was not disappointed! It was great! It definitely has way more in common with the first game gameplay wise than IW did. But hey, I liked IW. IW is not great but entertaining.

I like the song. The game, was really dissapointed. It's alright, in my opinion, it just starts out really strong and then it's down a really flat slope from then on out. Despite solid gameplay it just never ascend to being anything more than an alright game with a lot of ambition. Also the story is far too predictable.
I love this song. So many emotions and themes of the story are conveyed well in this piece. Somber singing into almost wailing as a techno binary beat joins. Music swells triumphantly but still slowly. The voice returns against some pounding beats. A choir of voices join the song, many are effected. The pounding beat presses yet again forward to a burst then the binary beat leads alone. I sense mixed emotions when ever I hear this song. Proud to be marching forward but at the same time somber.
IMO I actually thought Human Revolution was better, and I say this as someone who declared the original Deus Ex the best game of all time after playing the demo. I think they streamlined the game the right way this time, as opposed to how they did in IW. However, there are definitely a lot of people (maybe even the majority), who think that the original is better, but that HR is still an amazing game. Play it on PC though :P

God, I love this game. It's one of the few games that when I finished I felt really astonished. This game has almost everything that makes a great cyberpunk game great, atmosphere, tons of RPG elements, deep, complex story and more. But still, they could have made is even better, but it's the best around. Hopefully Cyberpunk 2077 will deliver everything I felt that was missing in this game.
Strangely, I have yet to play the game. Maybe I'll buy the enhanched Wii U version when it comes out.

Haven't played the orginal,but Human Revoltuion is pretty good,except for the boss fights and the last level.

This game probably has one of the biggest disparity between its boss battle and the rest of the game. Man, did the ending suck.
This is by far the best in the series in my opinion. The hub worlds feel truly alive, and there's so much to do in them, and the atmosphere is incredible. The art style is fantastically stylized, with the color yellow taking precedence, and it's uniquely accentuated by splotches of green and red. And as you already know, the soundtrack is amazing. Getting serious Vangelis-vibes. Granted, the game has flaws (such as the boss battles), but it's still an incredible experience.
The original was obviously a lot freer and had more depth, but I think HR does the title justice. It was fun, lots of cool technology, choices and beautiful areas. It is pretty weird how the game rewards non-lethal playing, though. Like, you get TONS more xp if you choose to go non-lethal through the game, which is kind of weird (even though I prefer it, myself). It was also a bit more shallow with all the dialogue and quests and stuff. But all in all, pretty great.
I enjoyed the game enough to play it back to back and get the platinum trophy out of it.
Play that game. You need it in your blood. It's that good.

This is much more easy to get into than Invisible War, which I still like, but this has more of the original elements. The soundtrack is bloody awesome and makes my neck hairs go mental. Reminds me of Vangelis big time.
Gotta love this theme's synthy/scifi sound and its chorus. Like many, I'm a huge fan of the first Deus Ex and was very disappointed by Invisible War (which I found just alright). For those who played and enjoyed the first game, how did you enjoy this in comparison? I have it on the 360, another game I'll need to play someday.
