My mom played Mario Kart with me for the first time a few weeks ago.. she got turned around almost every time we entered the table room or any sufficiently wide space. A couple of hours and some teamwork later and she won her first bronze trophy in 50cc though. :3 I love this stage, it's just great.
Good music, but uuuuugh, I HATE this level
People wanted ultra mega graphics back then too. And games are still fun today.
Mario Kart 7 is one of the best In my opinion. Sadly it's on handheld console... Kinda hard to play in group.

Best Mario kart game
Double Dash is the only MKart game I haven't played, but I have played this course in MK7 a lot. MK7 has to be my favorite innovation-wise.

That was definitely a missed opportunity. There were a couple of possible reason for the two Toads. the likely one was symmetry (2 plumbers and 2 toads, for primary colors). A less likely reason is that loading fewer player model, sound and animation files can help improve the game's performance, but that benefit would be very, very negligible. If they could manage Mario, Luigi, Toad and Peach in SMB2, why not Daisy in NSMB? She's Peach's friend, so she'd want to rescue her too, right?
gamecube had great games
Daisy is easily my favorite Mario character, and I wish she'd get some more love. I mean, she isn't always kidnapped and based on Japanese descriptions and stories and actual canon she actually goes about adventuring in her spare time like Mario after being influenced by him. Translation? Make her playable in more stuff! Like say New Super Mario Bros. U, instead of Mario Luigi Toad and Toad, make it Mario Luigi Toad and Daisy. It'd give young girls a someone to relate to & variety of characters!

we used to play this game 8 friends, with 2 gamecube's and an ethernet cable. The sound of the controllers when all of us reach the first corner and make the first corner with the turbo is one of my teenage remembers :D
My favorite Mario Kart.
The Daisy Cruiser is one of my favorite race tracks in DD, it's a great setting and the piantas on board is a nice touch. The music makes you feel like you could be playing Super Mario Sunshine. Two words though: moving tables. I've been halted by those so many times!
