Definitely one of the saddest and more beautiful moments in a game. Sometimes I share Platina's desire to just sleep and forget it all.

there are so many game music that is too epic for just a mere game's soundtrack, because it is a master piece in essence, and this, this is one of them. I'm not simply listening to music, I experience it, I taste it, I eat it, for me this is more than just a music, so amazing.
Valkyire Profile in my personal opinion is most under rated RPG franchise in the history of gaming, I bring it up anywhere and no one knows what the fuck I am talking about. I for one fucking love Valkyire Profile, and I think that Square should do more with such an amazing series. At least Bravely Default referenced this song in one of the demo towers!

I never got to play this as much as I wanted. That's what I get for not owning a PS until this game had already become super rare.
Hey, a track from one of my favorite PS1 games- I'm surprised you didn't include Behave Irrationally instead, though this track is great too
Dang, too bad this game didn't settle so well with you, considering how freaking rare and expensive it is now.
Ah, that's too bad. I do recommend playing through this game on normal mode. The time "limit" is only a real problem if you're on hard mode because you have less time to do dungeons/explore towns. Not a good idea for first play throughs. Easy mode if you're very unsure and want to get a good grasp on the story (best ending only on normal and hard mode). Found the battle system one of the most fun & new for it's time back then and think any RPG gamer should play through it at least once.
Behave Irrationally is the best track on Valkyrie Profile.
People can't tell me that those who make video game music ain't composers. This is beautiful.
The game punishes you for over leveling, so the time mechanics work to your advantage. There's actually many times where I ended up just wasting days to continue the story.
Well, you got to admit, Majora's Mask was about as kind with it's time limit as you can get; letting you slow it down, resetting it at will with little consequence, and giving you shortcuts near the entrance of dungeons, essentially lending you your whole allotment of time to complete them. Plus, Goht is probably the most fun boss fight in the series.
Sakuraba absolutely mastered PlayStation's soundchip! This game, and Star Ocean 2, have such amazing soundtracks, and part of that is that characteristic deep bass and dreamy harps. Could listen to PSX-era Sakuraba for hours! Such majesty and grace.

I feel the same way about time restraints in large scale games as well. Even if it's very forgiving with it, it just feels so restrictive. That's also why I couldn't get into Pikmin.
Haha, i knew it! My first thought was: "This reminds me of Golden Sun." Then i checked out the composer, and it turns out Motoi Sakuraba did the music for both of these games. This dude makes some great stuff, i think i'll check out more of his work now.
The time limit may appear intimidating in Valkyrie Profile, but the game actually gives you more than enough time to do everything, and you can take your time in dungeons...you just can't go in and out of them repeatedly. You're definitely missing out, since the game is one of the top five RPGs on the Playstation.

I'm currently playing this on PSP, I'm in Chapter 4 and I still find this game hard to understand the basics on items, timing attacks and building the right team. So far I'm having an entertaining experience.
One of Sakuraba's greatests. The game is also very rewarding, but indeed very time-consuming if you want to plan everything out. It's awfully satisfying to get it right, but it'll take several runs through the games if you don't use a guide.

Yeah, which is why I said generally. Escort missions are mainly terrible when the person you're escorting has terrible AI, which is almost always the case. As for time mechanics, I just don't like the added layer of unwanted stress. Games like Shenmue and Animal Crossing have what I'd call pleasant time mechanics.
I'm not really the best person to talk about this game. I bought it soon after it release, played it for a couple hours and stopped. There are two things I generally don't like in video games: escort missions and time mechanics that have a central impact on the gameplay. VP has the latter. It's also the reason why Zelda Majora's Mask isn't one of my favorites in the series. The music in VP has that great PS1 Sakuraba sound though, similar to his work on Star Ocean 2.
