@Nintendo Exactly! Someone else who has the same feeling I do! I liked The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess's dark atmosphere also, and it made it tense and set a great environment, such that you felt you were in Link's shoes, and I felt a similar feeling in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Now, compare both titles to Legend of Zelda: The Skyward Sword. Skyward Sword overall felt much more cartoony with its light and cheery artstyle compared to the environment of Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time. Skyward Sword looks more animated and I do not at all get the same intense atmosphere as I do from Twilight Princess. This is to the extent that I would have rather bought a Twilight Princess or Ocarina of Time remake (or extension) rather than Skyward Sword. Skyward Sword's gameplay is fun, I am not arguing with that, it is just that because of the art style, I do not at all get the same feeling that I got from Skyward Sword or Ocarina of Time. I hope Nintendo brings back the dark atmosphere in their next Legend of Zelda release. If they do, I will most certainly buy it.

The music works for the Twilight Realm in the state it's in when you arrive. Sure, it's a dark, alien, eldritch place, especially compared to the fields of Hyrule, but it's also cursed when you get there thanks to Zant and Ganondorf. Under nicer circumstances, I could see the vast twilit expanses being very peaceful, a great place for meditation and introspection. Perhaps that is what the goddesses intended it for, to have the Interlopers feel the weight of their heresy.
Nostalgia! every time I hear something from Twilight Princess I feel like playing the game all over again, it's still the greatest Zelda game released in my opinion.
When you get to the part with the twilight mirrors the narrative quality definitely took a dive, and when you get to Zant it felt like the story just dropped everything. Ganondorf's entry feels forced.

Coincidently I started playing this for the first time on my gamecube. Amazing game so far too bad it may be my last Zelda game since I don't see myself buying any wii consoles. :/
They already do. Two Zelda-games are in programming. One is a Wind Waker HD - remake, the other one is a new Zelda.
Some pieces of this music reminds me of Phantom of the Opera.

Not entirely true. Zelda 2 was different in a lot of ways. Not saying it's bad, just different. Personally I think it has aged better than Zelda 1, which might have been a bit TOO ambitious for the platform it was on.
What you said is one of the main reasons that I love about the Zelda-franchise; how they all got the same core gameplay, but differs enough for everyone to have different favorites.
Stats Update: With this Track, Twilight Princess is tied for second-most Zelda tracks alongside Wind Waker and A Link to the Past at 6 a piece. Ocarina of Time is #1 with 8 tracks.
To me, all 3D Zelda games have largely similar core gameplay and overall design, but are otherwise very different - with the only possible exception being OOT being similar to TP (which I don't agree with), but their release dates are eight years apart so forget it. That being said, the hype may have also played a role in TP's perceived disappointment among many Zelda fans.
Oh and am I the only one who feels that this series does not deserve to be labelled as stale? I replayed OOT recently and found it to appeal largely as a game with open-world nature, which of course contrasts from what I felt about TP when I started it right the day after finishing OOT. Also I feel that TP has a lot of setpieces and dungeon elements which are vastly different from anything in OOT.
That being said, most of the arguments I've heard for people disliking TP come from it being more of a linear set-piece driven game compared to its predecessors, which sounds pretty much identical to disliking MM because of the three-day system.
We're far from TP's launch. If anything TP's was more popular at back then. I'm really sad that TP, Brawl, and MGS4 are largely fading from peoples' memories as the years go by. They really should not.
This was my favorite Zelda game. I played through it twice consecutively, once on GameCube and once on Wii. It was quite strange to play the mirrored version of the Wii where Link is right handed and everything was opposite side. I still loved it. I even got the cannon save glitch and Nintendo sent me a replacement disc.
Vaguely disturbing. Great track.

Funny, I was just reflecting on this game recently. I was thinking about the wolf sections and how much they really broke the mold and how strange they were. I remember how foreboding and..."backwards" everything felt when I played those sections. It made me want to fix everything faster so I could be human again.

TP is going to end up like MM. One of the least appreciated ones at launch, only to end up as one of the most popular ones later on.

I liked the winter tunes, thought about a Halloween set when the time comes? This was a fun listen, sets the mood for those scary hands.
How could the WiiU possibly NOT have a Zelda on it? That's like... a pizza without cheese on it.
There isn't an official soundtrack, unfortunately. They released a sort of sampler disc with an issue of Nintendo Power, but it was only 7 tracks. There are rips people have made online, though.
They are making a new zelda game but expect it to come out late 2014 or 2015. To develop epic games like the zelda series takes time takes time

One of the best place in Twilight princess.
Each time I go back to playing this game I find more and more songs that I ignorantly glanced over my first time through. Though not orchestral, its still a solid soundtrack in its own way.
My personal favorite twilight princess song is the Hyrule Field at Night BGM. So clam and relaxing. :3

Seeing and hearing this, makes me realize that I barely remember anything from Twilight Princess! Which is strange, cause while I was playing it, I could have sworn it was one of my favourite Zeldas!
With oracle of ages and seasons coming to the 3ds eshop soon(it was announced today on the wii u Zelda miiverse page), and the fact that Nintendo has already stated a wii u Zelda is in development, and the hd Zelda wind waker coming this fall, it is a great time to be a Zelda fan.

An ambient piece perfect for this dungeon. Honestly, I already get very nostalgic listening to tracks like this one. Very unique, there are no other tracks like this one in this list. I absolutely loved this game's dark atmosphere, including the twilight world. I still can't decide which 3D Zelda is my favorite between OoT and this, a bit like how I can't decide which Final Fantasy I prefer between VI and VII. One thing I'm sure of, TP has my favorite dungeons.
