God I love this song. Reason I played Nocturne was its soundtrack. And holy crap that game was hard. Beat it though
This sounds very Castlevania-esque.
I started Nocturne like a month ago and i didn't know a shit about the game (I've played Persona 3/4 but...). It wasn't too hard to get used to the mechanics. I got to matador and he kicked my ass, decided to put on my null:force magatama and killed him on the second try, at level 21. He killed all my other demons (i had enough time to buff Demi-fiend) and then kept spamming mazan. I kept spamming my normal attacks with like 30% hit rate and won somehow. Lesson learned: A.I sucks on Nocturne sometimes. Haven't finished the game but this far has been quite an experience. The lack of voice acting works surprisingly well. Definitely one of the best JRPGs I've played in the last 4 years.

I'm in the US, but since i put that comment, i've done some research online and found Nocturne, Persona 3 and 4, and Digital Devil Saga somewhere around 12-18 dollars on Amazon, so i can definitely at least buy a few at a time
get all three. and where do you live? persona 4 can be bought for 11 dollars on amazon
It's honestly one of the most unique games I've ever played. It's that rare combination of a very difficult yet very fair game. I never had to grind during the game, and when I lost, I only felt it due to a personal error in team-building. The general atmosphere of the game is extremely well-done; probably the best I've ever even seen in a game. That being said, it can be hard to get into due to its difficulty, so you may want to go with Persona 3 or 4 first, even though they are very different.
Just Meguro doing what he does best: heavy, distorted percussion and insanely good, spacey guitars.
That's how the whole game was. It is IMO the best RPG, in terms of mechanics and difficulty, ever. Story was a bit strange, I'll admit.
20$ on amazon for each of those :D. I bought 4, then 3, and Nocturne gets here tomorrow!

I heard that outside Persona, this was an Atlus Gem on PS2, but i'm torn between buying either this, Persona 3 or Persona 4, since Shin Megami Tensei games aren't very cheap

It's gonna take a lot to top all the recent announcements Nintendo's been making. Hopefully Microsoft and Sony can compete by announcing a few new things if you catch my drift. And I say compete because Nintendo will still have advantages over the others. It's not some contest, games are games and we should just freaking enjoy them. Only contest is how well one performs at E3. Other than that? The winner isn't Sony, Microsoft, or even Nintendo. It's us. As long as developers keep it up, we win.
Matador's like the building jump in the Matrix; no one gets it the first try. But if you watch what he does when he floors you, you can make a good party setup and have a better chance the next time.

Yes, the SMT x Fire Emblem sounds amazing, can't wait for that even with the new fire emblem being released monday after next Matador was That One Boss, everyone has trouble with him
You can probably turn back now if you don't like wailing guitars. I like how Meguro has a clearly different style for this game compared to the Persona series, for example. This soundtrack is a lot darker, which suits the game perfectly well. Playing Nocturne was quite a unique experience back then, I remember having a hard time against Matador. Seeing Dante was pretty cool too. Anyone excited for SMT x Fire Emblem announced for the Wii U? I sure am. I wonder if it will be a strategy RPG.
