It was made by squaresoft. Although i disagree with you when you say it sounds like Final Fantasy.

I did beat this game too( with a lot of problems to fully understand the battle mechanics XD). Ironically, this is the easiest game of the Romacing SaGa series and probably the most entertaining one, 1 and 2 are bitches( never finished them and probably I never will), but the music is great. Kenji Ito is pure awesomeness.

Neat game though I never understood all the battle mechanics and the fact you could screw yourself in this game and not even know it until it was too late was a downer.

The translation that's available is practically 100%, it's just really unpolished. Really, really unpolished. It's still entirely playable and understandable, though.

Square Enix made a remake of the first Romancing Saga...they really need to get back on track and get 2 and 3 remade. The PS2 version of the first game was great. The battle themes were handled nicely as well.

I don't really care so much for the boss music of this game. If you have the SPC set, "Magical Tank Battle" "Final Battle" "Gen's Castle Battle" are better tracks.
