Paladin's Quest was a damn good classic, this game isn't a classic but it was very well made and very good too.
There's been a translation of this game out for awhile now.
This game seemed okay, the beginning was somewhat off putting as it felt like a really long introduction stage and I could already figure out what was going to happen. I liked the first game more, but it felt like this game was about to get better when I pushed it aside to play something else. I'll have to come back to this one. I still have my save state/saves,.
Glad you liked that game too! I own a reproduction cart and play it on my SNES. Only downside of the game came from the numerous battles that played out too long. Also, if I didn't play for a while I would get confused about all the various spells, what they do, and which enemies to use them on! I spy Myra in your party too.

Nice! Makes me want to go back and play some older RPGs that I never quite finished. If only I could pull myself away from Path of Exile...
Kouhei Tanaka is pretty awesome, although I wasn't even aware that he composed game music.
I was under the impression this game was only released in Japan...was there a translation done after the fact, very curious how you played it.
I beat it in a week, I can't explain why I was so addicted to it, but it definitely cemented the fact that I'm a big fan of this series. I think PQ1 is a good unique game, but this might be one of my favorite snes RPGs. It took me a couple hours to get into the battle mechanics and I did use the emulator's fast forward a lot during battles, but it just clicked with me. Nigel with all its districts was especially memorable. Great OST too, though the battle themes are weaker than its prequel's.
That's a screenshot I took when I played the game, it shows the best and only secret mercenary in the game. Because he's a powerhouse, I had to put "him" in the front row, which means I actually had to control that thing for a good portion of the game. His eyes get all weird during his walking animation too. Anyways, I finished this game last month and it's been a very long time since I played an RPG so intensely.
