As a first time Halo player being introduced to this game, I must say I was pretty disappointed. The story seemed almost nonexistent. But the gameplay was pretty fun.
But god is this song beautiful...
I heard some weeks ago that the Halo music composer was fired from Bungie Studios/ Microsoft. Is it true though? I think it's Neil Davidge. Damn, the Halo Soundtrack was the only interesting for me. I guess I won't care for Halo 5 or future installments when it's just going to be an even more generic shooter.
How come most western video game music is ambient? Don't be so afraid of throwing some life in there, guys

They all do. Some more memorable than others but the Halo series has good soundtrack overall.
I haven't played any halo game yet, but this game has kick ass music.
around the time you find the cartographer. But everything after 0:50 doesnt play until that mission is practically over. So unless you just stand in the elevator for 5 minutes you wont hear the whole track. A shame, really

The last part (from 4:20) strongly reminds me another movie soundtrack. Maybe Gattaca ? But i'm pretty sure i've already listenned a closer one elsewhere. Dear Youtubers can you help me ?!? ^^

Actually, compared to other games in the top franchises such as COD, this game hasn't posted any disappointing releases. Didn't raise the expectations bar too low or high like Bethesda did with Skyrim either.
Maybe. Maybe... The moment of the game might feel a bit similar, "I haven't reached yet :P" but the music itself is styled to carry a different emotion. Similar emotions, but there are far more accurate tracks to reference.
Best music of best game ever
Well, take for example Moonsong. The song kind of makes you think... I can't really explain it, just out of this world. Since I reckon that's because of the satellite sound, and that it's in this one, it is a similarity.
Hm, feels like Cave Story mixed in with the original Halo games.
You're right the game feels a LOT like Metroid Prime. Particularly in the areas where it's just you and no marines or vehicles, etc. The design is vastly improved. I always thought that the Halo series had a great storyline but the delivery was always so damn cheesy it was hard to take it seriously. Not anymore :)

Wow, it starts out haunting and low key but then that ending just blows you away.
Looking at gameplay, the game looks like its actually changing the way combat works in Halo games. Not mechanically, but design wise. The game also seems to have taken some design lessons from the Prime trilogy, which seems reasonable, because the guys at 343 think these games through. All is speculation though, will play tommorow. Multiplayer is universally fun, and therefr a cop out by lazy designers with VERY few exceptions. "Journey"

I hear the opposite, that it has a very well written story with an engaging amount of personality in the characters.
We'll miss Marty, but this really takes the Halo atmosphere in a new direction. It's lovely.

Haunting, sweeping, otherwordly and beautiful, just the way I want my sci-fi soundtracks! (Look no further than the classic point-and-click adventure game "The Dig" for reference) Amazing! I just want to pick up the game right now :)

Meh, not a fan. The composition of the song seems really generic and unmemorable. Fancy instruments can only take you so far.
I don't know why, even though this theme is great, modern game music just doesn't stick with me like old school music did.
I've always enjoyed the Halo series but unlike a lot of fans, I don't really care about the multiplayer aspect. I play with friends from time to time but I'd rather not get addicted to it so I just stick with the single player campaign and move on. I haven't played this game yet, but I can't shake the feeling 343 could have done something a bit more special with this game... Halo 4 seems like the start of another "safe" trilogy. I'm already a fan of Davidge's work though.
