Funny story: I installed this onto my steam and while it was downloading I heard news that the sequel was real.
After beating it I think I can safely say its one of my favorite games.

My favorite systems of all time was the SNES (partially because i was 11 when i got one so prime gaming years as a kid) but GCN was a my favorite 3d system. From ps3 on ....its different now, there are less companies making games, more indies yes, but it just feels different to me (not bad, just different) I guess internet connectivity for systems has changed them for me. Who knows, maybe im just feeling old.

I don't think your english is that bad actually. I understand wholly the whole games in "our world" thing, I feel the same way. Your friend needs to be a bit more open to possibilities is all I can say. It'd be nice if all language patches could exist for every game but some languages are bound to be more popular, can't let that keep you from something you could possibly enjoy. I'll even use broken Google translate if need be. XD

I've just told her that not only graphics are gameplay, the gameplay is the story, the world you could "live in", the fantasy part of it, the possibilities. I know that, I was just wanted to tell her that she must PLAY the game before she judges. She only judged about the trailer video and the pictures of it. I just don't know how can someone hate the game because of the graphics or anything else... No one can hate this game, I mean that it's a brilliant game and nobody can judge it before he/she played it. It was about 3 weeks ago, still then I just want to tell her that to JUST give it a try. But no. (sorry for my bad English, I'm from Hungary.)
Well I'm sorry to say, but your friend's ability to judge quality is absolutely terrible. Horrendous. Unless your friend can see the future, raise the dead, walk on water, loves Chrono Trigger, or has spoken with God about possibly being the next incarnation of Jesus himself, I'm not sure if I personally would trust a single opinion of theirs if to dictate a game they go solely on graphics and they deem cell shading as instant "ugly". Because that is a terrible judge of quality.
Well, a friend of mine doesn't want to play it because "the graphics are ugly". That was very bad for me to hear this, it's my childhood favourite. :') Even today when I play it, if I see the Lighthouse, Pey'j, or when I can drive the hovercraft on the sea of Hyllis, I'm jst smiling and remembering that wow, the best game I played ever. The only game what I can't find boring... Since 2005. (Yes, I only played the game first in 2005) Those good old times. Hyllis, what I can call "my second home".

Anyone who played this game all the way through knows that it is just a seriously epic fucking game. So many people missed out on this treasure because it wasn't a triple-A-hype-machine-supported game. If you haven't played it, I highly recommend it.
I'' m playing the dutch version (which normally means a brutally bad translation) but they had so much care in everything in this game, even the translation features awesome dutch actors. i laughed so much already and i''m only in the first dungeon!

You know when a game is good? When you despise a genre(stealth), and yet you find yourself drawn to a game in the genre(Beyond Good & Evil).

This game is sort of like the jet set radio future of the PS2. Way ahead of it's time to be truly appreciated. It's a crime this game never really hit mainstream gaming!
Man, I can't tell you how often I see loads of used copies of this sitting around for $8 each. And how no one buys them is beyond me. As to the sequel, it is VERY possible. For god's sake we're in the reinventing/FPS/sandbox generation! Rocket Knight got redone, Megaman, Punch Out!!, I've actually posted a similar comment elsewhere as well. Point is, no series is ever truly dead. Gaming series as a whole are about 30 years old, so if 20 year old games are returning, this one definetly will too.

Sorry, but was the game underrated? The only things I heard about it were extremely positive, for good reason. It seemed a bit too short, but that may be because it was so enjoyable. Still hoping for the sequel...

this game was extremely unique, fun, interesting and PLAYABLE despite the odd gameplay!!! Definitely worth the playtime.

Just bought it on steam for 10 bucks, it was really worth it, gameplay was really unique, although some things were left really unexplained the gameplay was still great. One thing i Don't like about the game is the disabillity to go back to earth from the moon, that really pissed me off because i wanted to go back and collect :{
My mom got me this game a LONG time ago and I remember saying it was gonna be garb, but that day I was bored and needed something to do so I played BGAD and WOW was i surprised, great game and well worth some good hours such a good story and so addictive!

Assassin's Creed was a dissapointment. It met no one's expectations, as well as having quite a few problems.
Many of the greatest things in life are disgustingly underrated
They apparantly have enough money to make a live action show based off Assasin's Creed, one of the biggest letdowns in recent video game history, and yet they can't appease many fans with a sequel to a critically aclaimed cult classic.

This was one of the last games I bought last gen before I 'moved on'. It bugged so I couldn't continue when I was close to the end so I never finished it but I think I'm going to pick it up and play through it again soon. Such a great game (except for the bug, lol).

had this game in my shelves for years. got it with a game collection (Gold Games 8). Trying it now and I am REALLY surprised how original and fun it is. If there's more ppl out there who are sick of playing the new always-the-same-thing games. This is definitely worth a try :)

well you've heard wrong. there is another one coming dont know the exact date but its confirmed (even wikipedia says so lol) anyway the "teaser" trailer turned out to be the real thing and there's already footage of the gameplay

It is pretty cool that this game paved way for a positive and innovative female influence which someone could be proud to relate to (unlike the Laura Croft`s in gaming). This is probably why the game did not sell well.
I wouldn't recommend anyone see that teaser yet. It really just teases... unless you like to be teased at. they don't even show Jade.... lets wait for the jade trailer.

Though I never had the chance to play this game, I enjoy this track a lot. It sounds so calm and dreamy. It feels like how "home" should feel like, especially after returning home after a tiring day.
With the words "Beyond" and "evil" in the title, it's hard to think that it'll be peaceful. It does look pretty though.
That's a very good choice. It's an amazing game, really (in my top two favorites). Buy it. But before you go thinking it's a "peaceful, pretty" game, I'd watch a couple of official trailers for it. It's a little more dark than this song portrays is as--but I love it anyway! Wonderful game!
