I remember playing this game when it came out and it was one of the best games I played that year. I really should revisit L.A. Noire soon.

Oh wow, Andrew Hale helped compose this? I love his work! For those that don't know, he has been a major contributor to SADE's sound since the 80s, & is 1/3 of her background musicians group SWEETBACK! They have 2 albums out. SUPRA you'd like them!!

If you like film noir such as L.A Confidential or Chinatown ,you will probably enjoy this game despite the lack of interactivity. ;)
Barely cohesive story? LOL troll.
Compared to what Rockstar Games has put out, this is a step forward in a story telling light. If you want a game to steal cars and raise havoc like their other games (apart from Red Dead) utilizing the same format of game play; try the games they made for just that. Or Saints Row the Third.
If you're focused on hype surrounding a game and not the content itself, I wouldn't call you a gamer, I'd call you a gimmick. You're a contributor to the hype which can, and has, destroyed otherwise substantial games. My example would have to be Dead Island; every game store I went to was trying to get me to pre-order this game and kept trying to hype up the "You're killing zombies" element of the game. I picked this game up last week for $16, turns out it has a great online co-op campaign.
Excuse me if I want my games to have at least some variation in it.

It was a very good game. How did it not live up to the hype it created? And if it was over-hyped to you, that is the marketing division's fault. The developers themselves crafted an excellent game.
The point of the game is the story, not the gameplay. Does every mistake you make have to impact the overarching plot? No. Personally, I can't understand why people don't like it.
I would highly recommend it. Personally, I would give it a 9.5/10.
Right. Even though for me the first case was very entertaining, after that it's literally just the same shit, different area. There was no variation whatsoever.

I approached this game in the same manner as I approached Heavy Rain. It has great intentions and executed interrogation quite well. Personally, I found the story fascinating. I hope we can see at least one more game like this in the future.
This is one of the prime examples of why games of the "Generation Autosave" are always underwhelming to me. You can fuck up every single case in the game and you will still have the same story progression as intended. Come on, what's so bad in starting over sometimes? Also the gameplay is really dull, there is crime-scene, driving, sneaking, chase and investigation. Once you've seen them all, the game keeps using them again and again. The huge amount of boring side-missions doesn't help either
it was a great game. sad that the entire development team got fired upon release though...
Very flawed game, great soundtrack
Utterly stalwart soundtrack from an ambition game.
The music they play during the title screen is the best song on the track.
It's one of those games that when you finish it, you wish it wasn't over.
I absolutely love this game. It isn't for everyone, but it was certainly for me. I can't promise you'd like it, but its worth giving a shot. I love the way cases and interrogations are handled, the story is great, sandbox element works really well. Other than some minor graphical flaws, this has quickly become one of my favorite games.
This and Arkham City were my favorite games from last year. I don't understand how anyone could not like it.
There was a lot of good music in this game. It did a perfect job setting the scene for this game. Really good use of dynamics too.
I'm playing through the game right now for the first time and I've gotta say - it has great story, outstanding voice and face acting (if you can call it like that), and overwhelming atmosphere of time and space. However, there are some flaws of the enviroment, colliding graphic models and so on, that kinda spoil the fun. But if you overlook this and concentrate on the story... That's one hell of a game.

I gotta agree. Just run through the game, it's definitley not worth doing the extra missions n crap. But the storyline is worth 20 bucks or so imo.
Play it but don't play long sessions if you do the game gets kinda boring
BTW when they were recording the dialogue, the "Doubt" option was actually called "Force"

I don't know if I'll ever have time to play this game but it certainly looks interesting. I've heard mixed feelings about it. The way the investigations are handled looks pretty unique. This kind of music is exactly what I'd expect to hear from this kind of game and style.
