Oath In Felghana is generally considered to be the best Ys game.
Sort of wish I'd got this on the Steam sale, now. Oh well, got the PSP version and Ys 7 coming in the mail :)
This kinda reminds me of Castlevania.
I'd recommend the first one myself, on Sega Master System as I first played it. But it's probably better with Ys Eternal on PC or Ys Chronicles on PSP.
Like if you're playing Ys because of ENB.

This game is flat out awesome and I recommend anyone to pick up a version of it (whether on Steam or PSP). For anyone looking for a good intro to this series, I would recommend this game. Ys Seven is very good as well, but I found that it contains a lot more "fluff" (boring cutscenes, etc) that distracts from the action. Both games have awesome combat systems and music.
to anyone who has played both this and origins, they are on sale in steam and i was considering purchasing one. which one should i get, and why? please looking for advice. i played the psp one, but don't remember it well.

Yes, Oath in Felghana is 5 bucks... but Origin's only dipped as low as 8 bucks as far as I know.

Omg, nostalgia all the way, but I personally love the theme from Ys 3 for the super Nintendo. It sounds more nostalgic and better for me. :P

I bought this game and Ys Origins today on Steam. I love Steam's summer sales even if it hurts my wallet and expands my already too big gaming backlog! I've been getting a lot of requests to post my Steam username so I did today on twitter. It's darkzeta, my avatar is red and has Nito from Dark Souls in it (a skeleton).
