This track brings back so many memories from childhood. Wow, this was a great game, with a great soundtrack. And Pyroxene is beautiful.

I am glad that I found your channel.
I love this game. I may have only been 10 or 11 when I played it, but it left a big impact on me. More so than even Final Fantasy or any other staple in the RPG genre. It's one of the first games that I actually built up over 90 hours of gameplay, and I still play to this day with my original discs. Thanks for uploading this :). Next to the battle theme, this has to be my favorite track in the game!
The only bad thing about this soundtrack was that so many of the tracks were extremely short

Star Ocean 2 was only on PSX. The original was a SNES releaseThey re-released it on PSP, but it was pretty unchanged
Yep, I agree with you here, SO2 had some blindingly amazing tunes. This is definitely one of my favorites from the game.

No need to delete your comment, I agree with you; It's not off topic since Tales of Phantasia IS a tri-Ace game ( technically ). ToP is probably the best Tales game to boot, too.

That's because it's the Tales game that wasn't composed by Sakuraba, but by Go Shiina.

Really? No wonder the Tales of... soundtracks have been so stale lately. I though Tales of Legendia had the best soundtrack, and that sounded nothing like the rest of their games.

there is a better video out there i have favorited if you want to give it a listen as it is ripped straight from the game...this is the soundtrack version and is easier to hear
Before the flute kicks in, the sound reminds me a little of the Terminator.
BEST Star Ocean game. PERIOD!
This game gets so little attention it's sad, it was a true adventure and endless fun. Of course, it was a gold bar in an age of gaming (98-00) where the streets were paved with the stuff.
It definitely had its high points, but I thought 2 and 3 were way better in terms of their soundtracks. Don't get me wrong, I loved all of the games. There's something about the gameplay that just pulls me in.
I adore Sakuraba. His Soundtrack to Golden Sun was one of my first exposures to really goog Game music. And it sticks with me to this day.

I was really disappointed by SO4's soundtrack, especially after loving 2 and 3's soundtracks so much.
This is my second favorite song of the game... right after the Expel world map theme. When will you upload it? :p
I find this game to be Sakuraba's crowning achievement. A great, varied and inspired soundtrack. This particular dungeon track completely stands out from the rest. He said in a recent interview that he'd like to change it up when it comes to the Tales series' music, but NamcoBandai is limiting him to the usual sound I'm starting to find boring (just like the games themselves, simply trying to clone the great Tales of Symphonia). Rust Color from SO3 is probably my favorite track of his though.
