This game still holds its own with its rather good replay value given the sheer number of tricks you can learn to sequence break things. That and the music kicks major butt with its epicness

My favorite song in the game. I played Metroid Prime first, so when I played this game, I was like... "Oh, so THAT'S where the awesome Magmoor Caverns song came from!"

It has the same sounds from Level 5 Lava level in Axelay as well . Man, I love lava levels in 16 bit games :)
Oh Metroid... In most games you can like, anticipate what's going to come next, you seriously cannot do so in this series.
Super Metroid had excellent music which was able to add to the atmosphere, It's only weird how you got only 4 soundtracks of the game on your list. I hope we will see more from Super Metroid in the future.
Well I just got similar vibes from Shadow of the Colossus (minus the claustrophobic part). But yeah, Super Metroid is right up there with The Wind Waker and SOTC for being some of the best games to provide a "sense of discovery".

I am in the forest walking 'round, but my friend geno cannot be found. i've been looking up and i've been looking down, still there's no sign of that blue assclown. he was once a doll but now he lives, life outta nowhere so hey what gives? xD
That would be me on the magmoor caverns thing. And this music helped me in this area, big fan of it.
It's a livin'! Well, aside from that, I'd say that this music really helped me not lose my patience the first time I got here. I was fighting the metal space pirates with no plasma beam and about 7 energy tanks and they kicked my ass every time. Now, I can wipe the floor with them. I'm usually here in about an hour and a half of play at most ready to make this place a cakewalk. This is my favourite song in Super Metroid. *slight nerdrage to those that consider this the Magmoor Caverns theme*

And the first thing I think of, instead of awesome gaming times, is NCS singing to this. I'm warped.
You knew you were in for some lava filled adventure when you entered Norfair's lower sector and this track started playing. Super Metroid is a mastepiece and no other game has ever given me such a claustrophobic but open-world experience (Dark Souls came close). The feeling of discovering and taking an elevator to an unknown and always deeper area was unmatched.
