I was young, maybe 3rd grade. We were poor -- I had an allowance of $2 a week if I was lucky. I saved for months and months and months until I was finally able to purchase both a Gameboy Pocket and a Pokemon Blue Version. Not only the first major financial achievement of my life, but the game that I have the deepest and most fond memories of. The first time I heard this song was one of the most magical moments of my childhood, and the power that this music holds to me cannot be matched. *tear*

The soundtracks for these games are legendary. I haven't even ever OWNED a Gameboy, but I will still never forget some of the tracks just from borrowing the game and beating it in a sitting. That is a testament to real inspired genius.
Oh man... I have nostalgia all the time listening to old game music, but this is on a whole different level. I didn't even like Pokemon that much, but something about this song sends me back in time.

This song makes me travel 12 years back in time, when I finally got my GBC. I was so happy that I spent at least 8 hours a day playing Pokemon and I also remember I used to turn off the GBC whenever one of my Pokemon got poisoned, because I thought it was a glitch that'd make it stop working, lol.
Takes me back to the good days....A seven year old girl with her new purple gameboy color and Charmander.... Ah...the memories. :)
Oh, does this take me back. You know for all its shameless marketing, the Pokémon franchise at its heart is still the collecting, competing, amazing adventure it began as. Or at least it is to me.

Gosh I love this song.. I would still have the game but knowing that the girl I adore loved pokemon, I gave her my gameboy colour and both pokemon red and blue.. It really made her happy ^^

The first town of the first Pokemon game, where it all started. With its 3 houses, I'm not even sure you could call it a town though. :P Playing this game for the first time back in the days is a feeling I'll surely miss, picking Bulbasaur because I liked the color green and going off on an unknown and exciting portable adventure. I remember playing at night under the sheets with my Worm Light attachment.
