I honestly love this game and Chrono Trigger so much... to be honest I see this as a spiritual successor to CT I prefer it to CT because the time travel is so vast But they are both damn near perfect games in my eyes

Of course this song is by Shimomura. Her style is so easily recognizable, and her music is always just so good. Maybe I should give this game a try.

I couldn't agree more. Granted, I never got to play the original, but I've been playing the demo for the remake, and I absolutely love it.

Re-commenting 5 years later: Still think that this game was so awesome. Such a shame it was overlooked.
Luckily it's getting a 3DS version with more content and a few improvements; perhaps it won't go as under-the-radar the second time around :o
For what it's worth I got the 3DS version, don't think I remember ever seeing the DS version. Definitely a hidden Gem! Atlus knows how to make demos ( Lets you play the first couple chapters of the game (Prologue + Chapter 1). If the story is engaging people will buy it to see the rest of the 30-40 hour story :).
The 3ds version is worth, as is looking up a copy of the original version.

+Alexei Roschak Yeah Yoko's stuff always seems to maintain some common essence. This also reminds me of the battle theme from Xenoblade. I think she's getting better with each soundtrack too.

Maybe you should try to use a rom or use an emulator. You can try to import it from another country like UK or in amazon.com. The same applies for old games and old game systems. :)

For those wondering about the reprint, the price of this game has drastically reduced over the past couple of months, so I can assume that there was indeed a reprint at some point. If you have the cash, go out and find this game, people aren't kidding when they call it the best RPG on the DS.

Ahahahaha!!! You are in for a treat! IMO, this game is my favourite alongside FFIV and Chrono Trigger, it was THAT good. Don't just settle to believe it is only the best DS RPG, it is one of the best RPG's of all time.

I got this along with 999 just as soon as they came out figuring they'd be rare finds and be those games that are worth a ton years down the road. Nice to hear my Rare Game Senses are still right on the money. 999 may be up for sale someday(not a puzzle guy quite as much), but Radiant Historia? YOU WILL NOT TAKE FROM ME!!!!!!!

Glad you finally got something from this game up! The music was definitely one of the best parts of the game - this track in particular never got old or boring no matter how many times you heard it.

@TheR9RO Well, when you compare it to the other RPGs on DS that AREN'T remakes, it really does stand out as one of the better ones. It does have it's flaws though.

@SupraDarky If you do get a chance to play it you will not be disappointed, Great Soundtrack, Fun Battle Mechanics, and a pretty solid story.
I bought this game the minute I saw it at Gamestop like...a week after it first dropped. And now all I hear about is that it's so hard to find. You know what I say? Wait it out, you might just find that reprint. I would have been shit out of luck if that reprint of Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney 1 never happened. I never would have experienced my favorite game series ever. Or took gaming seriously afterwards. Same with one of my favorite RPGs ever...Radiant Historia.

I should have bought this game before it got impossible to find. Thankfully, Atlus might release more copies soon since they asked their fans if they'd be interested in a reprint. Great soundtrack by Shimomura. Some people say this is the best RPG on the DS so I'm very much looking forward to it.

SupraDarky I actually found a copy two days ago. It was a tiny cartridge hidden on the far side of a shelf in a hole in the wall manga store. Finding something that way after you have been looking for months is quite the magical moment.
