Strange how I'm getting nostalgia from a 2011 game.
For some reason, I don't really enjoy this rendition of Rainbow Road. It just sounds a little too systematic and boring to me.
It looks like mario is in deep shit on the game's front cover. Ready to both get nailed by a blue shell from DK, a red shell from yoshi and a freaking banana as well...

MK7 is such a great game for playing online! And this is one of the best RR songs.
Dude, MK7's Rainbow Road is probably the coolest track in the entire series.
Naw, don't worry, man! The Rainbow Road Track was the longest track in the game. Having to do it 3 times over gets a bit boring when there aren't many obstacles to watch out for besides the Chomp-Chomps.
Yeah...reminds me of Space Harrier arcade in Shenmue from Dreamcast!

I always loved the n64 rainbow road music, but hated the track. So boring. Sorry n64 fans. Mario kart 7, awesome track and music = best track ever. I don't mean to offend any mk64 fans. So don't thumb me down please.
The track itself was boring in the N64 version but I like the music a lot better from it, though. This from 7 doesn't really do it for me.
@rockhoundhigh that's because you haven't seen rhymes with stomach version yet...give it a try!
@228SomeGuy yeah, the gamecube was great, and for me, pokemon games get boring after a while, because it's always catch>train>battle gym/event>win>complete pokedex. thats my oppinion, idk... but, I think I finally know why the old games where better, it's because they were just trying. they did'nt know what a "good game" really was, and they wanted to make quality over profit. thats what I think the games of today are lacking.....

@228SomeGuy yeah, I don't know what to make of the new pokemon in pokemon B/W... they just seem so..... weird. o_O not sure if you like them.... but I have my thoughts on most of the B/W pokemon. hopefully, nintendo will go out of it's "bad streak" soon...

@228SomeGuy yeah.... y'know that most games are going a bit downhil from their nostalgia, like FF13 and the new LoZ games..... but it looks like nintendo is finally correcting itself with mario kart 7, LoZ OoT, super mario 3D land, and luigi's mansion 2.

I remember playing Mario Kart 64 together with my dad when I was a kid. Always loved the Rainbow Road theme. Thanks for the sweet memories.
I didn't enjoy this game as much as I was hoping too. It felt very easy, and toned back for younger players. But this music is fab :)
Easily the best music, character selection next to the Wii's installment, and best assortment of Stages of any of the 7 games imo. Mariokart thank you for being a staple in my gaming life, i hope you continue on into the rainbow roads of our children's minds and their children to come!

Stats update: The Mario Kart franchise currently has a cumulative total of 11 songs on this list, led by Mario Kart 64 with 5. This is also the fourth Rainbow Road track from the franchise on this list (alongside MK64, Double Dash, and SMK).

I haven't had the chance to play this game yet, but I really like this rendition of Rainbow Road. Since we all know there will be a Mario Kart on the WiiU at some point, I have to say there could be some awesomely fun possibilities with the tablet. I can see the one holding the tablet throwing obstacles while the other players race, maybe take the role of a flying lakitu !
