You can't even begin to imagine. This game blew my mind away in 2005 and continues to hold up as the greatest and most elaborate mindfuck I've ever experienced. There are not enough words in this box to describe. The story masterfully weaves real and surreal elements together with uncanny, badass style and then flips the whole thing over at the end. Then you replay it, knowing the "truth" and you can't believe how naive you were, or how anyone could write such a deeply complex story. Godly.
Out of curiosity, how "deep" is this game's storyline compared to, say, Metal Gear Solid?
This games story is so deep they had to write a short book on it called Hand in Killer 7 to explain more of it. Its crazy as hell

Fantastic game. More originality in this title than there are in most other games combined.
Killer7 is better. Shadows of the Damned has its moments, but its not nearly as impactful as Killer7. I would call Shadows of the Damned an amusement and Killer7 a masterpiece.
I can't put into words the emotions this song brings out.
Shadows of the Damned will feed that Suda 51 itch like No More Heroes did. It's more organized and much friendlier than killer 7. It's like Suda 51 and Resident Evil had a baby.

Well, that's the cool thing about Suda51's games; You really can't confirm anything and you're allowed to interpret it your own way. As much as I love this game, it's really weird and it kind of makes you question everything. Heaven Smiles exist, and all of this strange stuff happens, so how is it not possible that there really were alternate personalities all along?

Hella crazy, he had all the guns in his case. He was so out of it he thought he was becoming other people but was really just using different guns/weapons.
Multiple Personality is a good one too.
I'm in particular a really big fan of the piece that plays during the game of Russian Roulette. Glad to see a Killer 7 theme up here though.

One of the few games that had a story that could impact me, gives ya that feeling of "Whoa, I just went through a lot" even though it was just a videogame.

@Ocelot93 Shinji isn't developing it, and he didn't develop Shadows either. He provided resources. Suda only provided some character concepts and I'm pretty sure he wrote those story books. Everything else, he left to his crew. Lolipop seems to have even less involvement with him providing character concepts and bringing a Hollywood writer and letting other people do it. I like it so much better when he was more involved. Like in Killer7 for example. He wrote that, fully involved.
@SupraDarky I was a bit disappointed, it's mechanics weren't as solid as I would expect them to be coming from Mikami, the universe was kinda dull (for Suda51 standards, if it was by anyone else it would be considered very creative) and my biggest letdown was the soundtrack, an extremely underwhelming and unfitting score from Yamaoka, who basically just made a mediocre Silent Hill score when it doesn't even suit the game. Rental first recommended.
This soundtrack is interesting to me...some of the tracks are obvious throwaways and kind of on the "hokey" side, and on the other hand, you have pieces like "Dissociative..." and "Sweet Relief" that are not only the best on the ST, but some of the BEST vgm work I've ever heard. Love this track. Thanks for posting.

@SupraDarky Very little involvement in Shadows by Suda. Even that new Lolipop game is seemingly lacking his presence. Though, you might like it anyway. Good luck.
Was waiting for this. Easily one of my favorite games of last gen because of presentation and story alone. The last scene will take away your breath, especially when this song kicks in and leave you thinking about it for days.

This one plays right at the end, and goes into the credits. Glad you finally picked something from Killer7, it's got quite a few good songs.

Wow... this is one of those games I've been tempted to try out yet got sidetracked to something else. This very song may be the true reason to finally try this game out.
Killer7's one of my fucking favorite games ever made. Masafumi Takada and Jun Fukuda made a great soundtrack, the graphics are still pretty stylish and the voice acting/cutscenes are second to none. It's not even like a game, really. It's more like a comic book imo. This game actually makes me want to eventually go to film school. You should upload the whole OST! :)
I really liked this game, very unique. Great characters and story. I'm generally a fan of Suda51's games, but Killer7 is still my favorite after all these years. I really want to try Shadows of the Damned though.
